<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">[IMGR]http://www.nba.com/media/bulls/gordon_300_061031.jpg[/IMGR]Minutes after the Miami Heat received their championship rings, Kirk Hinrich and the Chicago Bulls reminded them that their new hardware was a reward for last season's efforts. Hinrich scored 15 of his 26 points in an overwhelming first half as the Bulls trumped the Heat, 108-66, in the opening game of the 2006-07 NBA season. Hot-shooting Chris Duhon added 20 points in just 16 minutes for the new-look Bulls, who used their defense, sparked by prized offseason acquisition Ben Wallace, to generate a 37-point second quarter that broke the game open and abruptly ended a celebration. It was the worst season-opening loss by a defending champion, surpassing the 132-117 setback suffered by the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Golden State in 1982. Bounced out of the first round of the playoffs by Miami last spring, Chicago spent the offseason adding Wallace -- a four-time Defensive Player of the Year -- and athletic rookies Tyrus Thomas and Thabo Sefolosha to a young, energetic roster. Meanwhile, the Heat made very few changes since their stirring comeback from an 0-2 deficit against the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals. Their veteran group looked sluggish against the Bulls, who used all 12 players in the decisive first half.</div> <div align="center"><font size=""1"">Recap l Box Score</font></div>

Also I don't think we should get so carried away with this butt whooping. It's only one game and one didn't really mean anything after about half time. EDIT: Thomas has a broken nose? OMG that stinks. http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/6124390 (At the bottom)

Just wanted to say the Bulls bench depth is really amazing, I don't think It is even close to say who has the best depth in the NBA. Must say I was really impressed by Thabo. Granted he did most in garbage time but he does look the real and looks to be a guy who can produce straight away. Still was odd seeing big Ben in a Bulls jersey Miami did look beyond bad, they looked far older than they actually are.

I've never seen a team as young and hyped as this play this well. They were awesome, and the Heat looked absolutely ancient. How about Tyrus Thomas huh? He looked scared and nervous for about five minutes, and totally jacked up on adrenaline for the rest of the game.
