I'm not getting it. Philly signed him to a one year deal and traded him to another team. Why should Houston have his restricted rights? I think that's bullshit.
Wesley Johnson of the Lakers as a young/cheap back up 3...I do know if he's considered "second tier" though.
This guy... He's only 24 and has gotten better each season. He is not a good 3or shooter but was better than Batum this year. Young athletic plays hard and attacks the rim... fits the mold of every other addition we have made. And he is proven. Gives about 10 and 10 per 36 with almost 2 blocks and steals. If we keep Wes we have plenty of shooting with Lillard, Wes and Lamrcus starting and scrappy finishers in Aminu and Plumlee.
yes to Aminu only if he comes off the bench because he could be brought in for whoever getting torched defensively, and he could be brought in with Meyers as the 3rd floor spacer
Although Aminu would be a lot better shooter if he shot the ball at the peak of his jump instead of on the way down. It was the same problem Blake Griffin had, and when Blake fixed it he become a deadly mid range shooter. Aminu has a prefect release, no interference from his offhand and has no hitches. If he released the ball just a little earlier it'd be a smooth one motion shot with textbook form.
I thought the same thing after watching some of his jumpers. Barton shot like that when he was here as well. I like how he aggressively attacks the baskets and is very long and annoying on 'D'. Given that Olshey drafted him originally they obviously know each other. I'd like to see him here.
yeah, the other problems with Barton jumper was the release/follow through wasn't fluid and his shooting pocket was on the other side of his body. Aminu's shooting pocket and stroke are both ideal.
My first choice and will still be Danny Green. He has championship experience, shoots better than Wesley Matthews, can run offenses and is just as much the defender as Matthews.
he's not the leader and heart that Matthews is, and he's not as good of a finisher. He's a good option for $10M or less
Well yeah, but I believe getting Matthews maybe a pipe dream, if we want to keep Aldridge. Plus Matthews is demanding 15 mil. Of course he's probably not going to get it, but the negotiations may take too long to want to wait it out. Other free agents may be taken before then.
we only have to set aside $10M in cap space for his hold. We can sign free agents up to $57 then go over to resign Wes. Hell we could give him 2/34 ($17M a year) with a team option if we wanted, since the money this year wouldn't matter and we'd decline it next summer
I could have sworn cap hold was based on the average of the previous contract. I maybe wrong, but I seem to remember that the average was 8 mil.
http://data.shamsports.com/content/pages/data/salaries/blazers.jsp This says his cap hold is 10.9 mil. I guess it's in the middle of what both of us said.
