    From Lakers Forum:

    “No one can guard Dame”
“Blazers just need to shut down AD and we’re done”
“We are going to get swept by Portland”
“The Blazers can’t defend against their grandmothers”

    Funny Stuff

OK, OK, I guess I've been too hard on him. These last two games really soured me on him and I guess he has been hurt for both. Now I'm gonna be mad at Olshey some more; because it is our lack of quality depth that apparently forces Stotts to play CJ so much even though he is injured.

The most he got paid was 14 mil but during his best stretch he made 9-10 mil per season which is only a little less cap space than CJ takes up right now for us. I would say that Manu was a much better defender, he wasn't undersized for his position, he knew when to take over games and when to just spot up shoot. I think Ginobili in his prime was much much better than what we get from CJ at his best.

That shows how little trust Stotts must have in Simons; although I don't see how there is any way Simons could have done worse than CJ in the last two games.

Yeah, since we play last, if all of the other teams lose the Suns, Spurs and Grizz then we can sit whoever the hell we want to. Maybe get Nas some playing time since I'm pretty damn sure he could be helping us right now, in the play-in and the playoffs. If any of those teams win their game on Thursday then it's a must win, all hands on deck because the advantage of only having to win one out of two games is so huge.

That's the proper place to focus your energy.

Don't be too hard on yourself about CJ. You can't assume everyone who is sucking it up is playing with a broken back.

Yeah the only things I put on CJ are when he constantly passes up open spot up threes to pound the rock and his half assed defense (sure the guy would be a bad defender even if he gave it his all but he wouldn't be as horrible as he is). I put everything else on Stotts for letting him play his inefficient offense and playing him so damn much with his terrible defense and inability to know his role. Obviously though the buck stops with Olshey for paying so goddamn much and other things that I won't talk about until the season is over.

See this is the part i just don't understand? Mad at Olshey now?
Why be mad at anyone? This team has been playing it's heart out. Dame just went for 50 and then 60 in consecutive games?
Trent is playing his ass off.
Nurk is back and getting into game shape before our very eyes.
Collins seems to be recovered from a tough injury also. He is getting back in shape as fast as he can.
Whiteside sat and got healthy it seems and now is contributing well again.
Mario just played another decent game.
    Melo has been stellar!
They are currently in the 8th position and could go 6-2 in the bubble which would clinch it!

We all knew the road to even make the playoffs was gonna be brutal with the schedule they were given. We are getting some awesome basketball games to watch. With any luck they can win Thursday and clinch a playoff series and give it a good run.

There is very little to be MAD about. Trying to find reasons right now seems like a waste of time. But you do you bro. Just trying to help you enjoy the good things we got going.

Did you watch the very last play? CJ pressured that 3 perfectly and didn't foul. There were about 3 or 4 really good defensive plays CJ made tonight. 1M does not make those plays at all but he might have scored better. So who is to say you might be right? the scoring could offset the defense?

This is just wrong. CJ bailed the team out about 3 times and made them switch on defense a number of times. He also played that last shot as good as it could be played by anyone.

He played three good defensive plays... I understand when someone hardly ever plays good defense it's easy to think when they do their job it should be celebrated but that's not how it works. When you're a defensive liability 90% of the time, you don't get celebrated the 10% of the time you aren't, sorry. Especially when the guy backing you up plays right 90% of the time.

Other than Memphis being in front of us despite having a worse winning percentage, I found it odd that we have only played 73 games and it's August!

Prtior to tonight’s game (first 6 games) Nurk has a BPM of +4.2 and a PER of 25.0. That’s elite. His PER would place him 11th in the NBA. Terrible? Are you kidding me? Besides all the little things Nurk does he freed Dame with beautiful screens for open shots about a bijillion times in this game alone. I think you need to rewatch the game.

I like that starting lineup but think opponents would trap and we dont have enough ball handlers.
