Oh Batum can throw it down. I think he needs to gain about 15+ in lean muscle though. If he could be more assertive on offense he could do this more:
Ha! I'll wager to say I'll get a more intelligent conversation in here than in the O-Live Pissing contest.
Assertive behavior on the floor was destroyed by 1) the 25 Points of Morality or whatever it was called (in other words, by those who wanted the old team blown up) and 2) McMillan's demand for an unemotional, businesslike, slow, uncreative playing style. We got rid of half of the causes, McMillan, but the Oregonian remains steadfastly opposed to the player attitude that makes NBA teams elite.
This logic is destroyed by the OKC Thunder. Are you saying there is one player on that team (maybe Perk) that they wouldn't want here? Also Brandon Roy was pretty damn Assertive. To say LA isn't assertive simply isn't giving him props. He does average 21+. In closing, I disagree.
Roy moved around like Clyde, but needed to hog the ball to do so, while Clyde didn't. Aldridge is a good example of McMillan-era passivity. Hickson was a breath of fresh air after years of watching Aldridge. You weren't here when I singlehandedly saved Hickson's job. After Olshey cut him, I campaigned in a thread on this board that Hickson is a big deal. Olshey recconsidered after losing Hibbert and signed Hickson. Never question my judgment.
When people compare Lillard to Bayless it shows their BBIQ. Their games look nothing alike. Bayless knew 1 speed. Lillard has a 6 speed clutch on his hip. He is light years ahead of bayless. Bayless drove with his head down toward the rim. Lillard is constantly dribbling with his head up and sees the whole floor. They are nothing alike.
What does hogging the ball have to do with not being assertive? That makes no sense. I don't know how you can call LA passive. Was he passive when he singlhandedly beat OKC and was denied a win because of the horrible goaltending call? Anyone who shoots 15+ shots a game is not passive. Equating soft (which has been a reputation he has earned even though he as transitioned pretty well to the post) to not being assertive is a false equivalency. Again I just don't agree.
I agree.. Just saying, Bayless had that FU mentality on the basketball court. Different players, with different styles can both have the same mentality. When people don't realize that it shows their BBIQ
don't worry, after he reads a few weeks of posts during the season, he'll start to get a feel for everyone. Hell, he probably already realizes I know jack about the game.
You have landed on our planet to teach us many things. I just realized that jest is the antonym of joust.
Pete threw a DIME touch pass tho! He has the ball for less than a second on that play. There was nothing Ewing could do but get whammed on...
