Regarding the Federalism issue, it should be noted that this really isn't one. The federal government has the power to determine federal offenses, and states have the power to determine state offenses. That hasn't changed or been infringed. All this policy adjustment does is direct federal law enforcement to no longer ignore certain federal offenses. However, it does not require the states to assist in the apprehension or prosecution of citizens who violate federal law while complying with state. In fact, the OSP chief specifically stated yesterday that that's exactly how we'll handle it, and we're well within our 10th amendment rights to do exactly that.

I mean... this would still be terrifying to me if I was in that industry.

With that said, this is supposed to be a GOP House and Senate with a GOP President. From my point of view, they should be the ones that support state's rights and support business growth...... but no. They're not.

I still think it's Big Pharma and law enforcement. The amount of money they make of civil forfeiture from the drug war is obscene.

It does frustrate me when the GOP lets social conservatism trump fiscal conservatism (pun unintended).

It has been that way for quite some time.... but in truth I don't think any of those fuckers are actually socially conservative. They just use it as a tool to control their constituents.

Fake conservatives at it again. Take away states rights, personal freedoms, an excellent source of revenue and an unquestionable economy booster....because marijuwanna is bad, mkay. By all means let the big pharma companies go wild though, prescribe all the kiddies amphetamines and when they grow up we'll pretend we don't know why they're all drug addicts.

"Family values" is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard of. Half of these family values politicians have been caught with gay prostitutes or drugs themselves it seems like.

200,000 people died of prescription opiates. Zero died from marijuana.

Essentially. I learned a little yesterday about the "anti-commandeering doctrine", and it seems pretty clear how it applies to both situations. As long as the states don't do anything to actively obstruct federal efforts to enforce federal laws, I see no issue with states choosing not to actively engage in assisting the enforcement. It's identical to an individual citizen's right to not assist or cooperate with a criminal investigation as long as they don't actively hinder it.

How many people do you know that can think better or work more efficiently using weed regularly?

How many of you want the President and his administration to only enforce the federal laws on the books that they deem worthy?
How about selectively as they see fit?

Obama did it this way, is it your preferred way?

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Why do they have to work/think better and more efficiently? Unless marijuana magically makes you smarter, it should be illegal? Plenty of people who smoke marijuana recreationally are able to think and work at their normal levels, just as with people who drink alcohol recreationally.

I suppose you are attempting to say, marijuana does not make anyone smarter. (review my posts. None mention illegal)
Good. Then does it assist people to work more efficiently?

I agree, everything that makes you dumber should be illegal! Like pot, alcohol, and reading Trump's tweets.
