Ugh, seriously. I figured he couldn't be any worse than Renteria on defense and he'd at least put up somewhere near .270 and 15ish HR like he did last year with the Dodgers. Dude's been complete shit so far. I know Sabes isn't a big move type of GM but I feel like it will make some sense at the trade deadline to put all minor league assets (Wheeler, G. Brown, T. Neal, Culberson, ALL OF THEM) on the table to get a starting level SS. Love Belt's plate discipline. Really makes the pitchers work and despite a shitty average hes got a nice OBP. Keep him in the majors for the love of god and the hits will come. Plus the infield is so suspect defensively we can't afford to lose an ace fielder. Between the plate discipline, defense, and athleticism he gives us 3 things we sorely lack. The bat will come around eventually. Speaking of which I can't wait for Ross to get back and shut it down in RF. Burrell's 2 HR are nice but outside of that hes done jack.
yeah, agreed on belt, he has picked at least 10 balls out of the dirt in the first week or else tejada would have another 10 errors, i look at what sd did in landing bartlett, wtf...im not sure who would be available,, but maybe jose reyes? and yeah, burrell, is just hot garbage, and also torres is striking out ALOT for a leadoff guy. we are a mess in the outfield defensively right now as well. rabble rabble.

and for the record, id like to keep wheeler, unless we are talking bringing in a ryan braun type hitter
