His net +/- per 48minutes is 2nd only to Nurkic among players with a real sample size. Crabbe and Turner are at the bottom of the list* www.82games.com/1617/1617POR1.HTM *Again, I'm not saying they're bad, I'm saying they're being misused
So, basically you are claiming Crabbe is a small ball 3, and pretty useless otherwise? If so, I agree. He can't guard most starting/bigger SFs (or starting SGs, for that matter). He doesn't really have the handle or passing to be a SG. So, he's really only effective as small ball 3 off the bench. Sounds about right. Too bad were paying $18.5 million a year for his very limited service. BNM
That's exactly where I got my numbers. Throw out the garbage time minutes (which I did in my last post) and Napier is -2 for the season. His +/- only looks good when you include garbage time. BNM
Can you compare his minutes alongside either Dame or CJ to Turner or Crabbe as the SGs next to Dame or CJ?
No, too time consuming for something I don't really care about. The data is there if you want to sift through it. It was easy to pull the garbage time minutes. Just looking at his fellow garbage time teammates (Quarterman +12.1/48) and Layman (+6.3/48) it was pretty easy to guess where Napier's +4.7/48 came from, even before I did the actual math. BNM
Coach is hoping that Turner will go back to not sucking by the time the playoffs start. To get him ready, he's taking Shabazz's minutes. In the short term, it's hurting us. Hopefully, coach is right and it'll mean a better team when the playoffs start.
plus/minus.... really? I do agree with you that Crabbe isn't being used right. a couple months ago I mentioned that Crabbe would be effective in a role similar that he's been used in since the break.
Shabazz has actually played a fair amount the last few games, but he never seems to shoot the ball. He's got good handles and it seems like he could create a shot if he tried...but he never shoots the fucking thing.
Yes, he doesn't shoot much, but in these games he's gotten more minutes we won more than in any other time of the season
Good point. Maybe he could have made a difference in that horrendous Bucks game if he would have jacked up a few shots though...never kno. Some games we just can't seem to find a difference maker and i feel like the way shabazz plays its almost like he has explicit instructions NOT to shoot the ball.
He could have made a difference if he had gotten any playing time but since Turner's return he's been relegated to garbage minutes or DNP
