Moves like Larry Nance aren't gonna cut it. Stars are allowed to have slumps.

that season, Portland won 54 games. They haven't matched that in 8 years

well the last time we were in the western finals was 2000 and before that the drexler teams, its safe to say its an extreme rarity for this franchise to give him no credit at all is not fair. I personally dont think Dame is good enough to lead a team to a championship and the only way we could get better is getting really lucky in the draft. the way we got roy oden and aldridge was through sucking many years and drafting them. neil was able to build the team to western conference finals without tanking. I have to say again im not a big fan of neil but blazer fans just want a scapegoat. I personally want a new gm and to blowup the roster and go through the draft until we have another chance like with roy oden and aldridge. I just think neil deserves some credit for building a competitive team without tanking.

We had one year out of 9 where we went to the WCF and everyone knew we didn't have a chance against a Kevin Durantless Warriors. Whoopty Doo.

Again. Dude plays around the margins and whiffs when be has had opportunities to improve the team more than by the margins. He can go be a good enough gm for a big market team. He is not good enough to be a small market gm.

Possible. The skeptic in me also had the thought that the team was looking for a viable reason to oust him without having to pay him the rest of his contract. Or it allows them to get rid of him without upsetting Dame if he's tight with Neil.

perhaps let's see what they find. Wild that no leaks are out yet

This is illogical, just like giving up on Dame 9 games into the season when you have 9 years of data.

    Neil must read S2!

“He would never admit it, but he’s been stung by the outside criticism. I know, because I’ve heard him rant and rave about an opinion of a random Twitter account with 860 followers.”

    HCP, can thee confirm this?

This doesn’t make sense to me. Are the young Blazers not supposed to claw their way to the WCF because everyone knows they’re not good enough to beat the best team in the league? Is Olshey supposed to somehow make the Warriors worse?

It was cool enough. Just nobody logically could have thought we had a chance to actually beat them. People like to point to the one WCF appearance as if it means Olshey did a great job. Throwing around we made the WCF once sounds better than it was. We didn't have a chance to get out of the WCF.

We haven't really had a team that could compete for a title during Dame's career. The team we had where Wes went down with an injury was the closest we had in terms of maybe, just maybe getting one.

Still felt better about the potential of the Roy, Aldridge, Oden team.
