<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Shaquille O'Neal is still not taking on Kobe Bryant by name. But you don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to read between the lines. Shaq shot down Kobe's belief that they could've coexisted on the Lakers. In a telephone interview, O'Neal said that he didn't think Bryant ever appealed to Lakers management to keep the team together, though Bryant maintained at a news conference earlier this month that he could have played with O'Neal next season. And O'Neal made it clear that he believes Bryant wanted him out of Los Angeles. "Be careful what you wish for, buddy," O'Neal said several times during the 15-minute conversation. Asked if Bryant ever lobbied for him or for Phil Jackson, O'Neal said, "Probably not. I think he would have made it vocal. He never said anything, Magic (Johnson, the Hall of Famer and Lakers' minority owner) never said anything. Nobody ever said anything. They're having a press conference, and I'm at home eating cereal, and I see Phil's getting fired. And then Mitch (Kupchak, the general manager) had his little press conference. I knew things were going to be different. I'm loyal to Phil. I couldn't see myself playing for Mike Krzyzewski." O'Neal said that he thought Jackson would retire after the season, and went to Lakers management during the season with the idea of hiring Rudy Tomjanovich as head coach if Jackson decided to call it quits. O'Neal says he never heard from anyone about Tomjanovich or George Karl, whom O'Neal says was his second choice to replace Jackson.</div> <div align="center">Link</div>
Shaq says Kobe wanted him out huh? Just like Shaq shipped out Eddie Jones, Elden Campbell, and Nick Van Exel. What goes around, comes around, Big Fella.

Let the game to the talking and will see.</div> Be careful what you ask for... Remember Kobe's press conference? He said something like, "It's gonna be a challenge with this roster." He's the only superstar one his team and he's in the West. Shaq on the other hand is confident that his team will do good (and he's in the east). I'm not saying the Lakers won't do better than the Heat but they're gonna have to show a lot more effort than they've been showing the last few years. No more waiting until the playoffs to "turn it on." Both Shaq and Kobe know that. But like someone said, we should just move on and wait till the season starts.
Wait a second if all of this were to be true and Shaq knew that kobe was to get rid of him why would he say i want to be traded. He should have not talked and went on with his own buisness and if by that time he got traded it would be obvious kobe had something to do with it but since he asked and demanded for a trade theres no proof of kobe wanting him too leave.

Even jerry west said they traded him because he always seemed to have a chip on his shoulder and when they traded him they felt he was holding down the team and hurting the locker room with his bad attitude to the team. Jones got shipped out mainly because of kobe not shaq. They wanted to give kobe more minutes and the back court was to deep to fit kobe any where with both jones and nick there to fit kobe any where. Campbell I never really new why he got shipped out, but do you really wish he hadent been traded? He is injury prone guy with a big contract he played a very small supporting role in the pistons title run.

Elden got traded because he couldn't coexist with Shaq...He would play like an all-star when Shaq was out, and play like Samaki Walker when he was in... NVE got traded because he couldn't co-exists with Del harris...
I am sick and tired of this Shaq/Kobe feud. WE've dealt with it for eight seasons, we've dealt with it during the offseason crisis, and I'm TIRED of it!!! Why can't Shaq just let it go? He's already said he's happy being in Miami, and his new beginning with the Heat, he's already written us a letter about his great years with us, and now he tries to rub it in more about this old news? Give it a rest and move on. Now I can't wait for Heat/Laker games now.
Media Hype. Thats all. They want to juice out this DUEL till the end. They will continue it next year. Just wait and see.

Whoever is a Kobe fan and wastes their time whining about Shaq's whining truly wants Shaq on the Lakers again.

Well, Shaq is a guy that has always craved attention...He loves the media because they are his outlet for attention, and the media loves him because he always gives them something to write about... love it or hate it, it's Shaq, and it will not be the last time he talks about his former team
