Yes,Pip joining the team and becoming the player he did is as much a reason for the Bulls success as was Mike. And for you to say otherwise is ridiculous and uneducated. that's a cool thing for shaq to say... but i just think he said he needed kobe because he wants his second punch player to be someone a caliber of kobe not less... he said in his biography "Shaq Talks Back" that he wouldn't mind letting Kobe take over the team and become the first option and he basically just commits to being the second option and focusing on just defense and rebounding in the future but i doubt it.... anyway, i noticed kobe taped his ankles thick for games this season... do you think this is just one of Karl's advices for him?
