<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Laker_Fever_834:</div><div class="quote_post">Why are you already thinking ahead to the future? All Laker fans want to see Kobe as a Los Angeles Laker. Why do you want to see Kobe as a Clipper? One big reason you watch the Lakers is because of Kobe? I'm a Laker fan, and I watch Kobe and the other 14 guys on the roster perform on the basketball court. You're still going to be a Laker fan if Kobe leaves the Lakers, yet a big reason you watch the Lakers is because of Kobe? Hmmm....</div>

i always think ahead, it's normal to human beings [IMG] i said "i don't want him to see in another uniform but if he does, i think clippers suits best for him", that doesn't mean i want him gone, just my opinion. i live in los angeles, is that good enough reason for you why i'm a laker fan? <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Big Nasty:</div><div class="quote_post">well whateva playa, but if that's case..some people on JBB need to actually know what the hell they talkin' bout before postin'...if you think MJ could have done the same with a lesser player than Pip you are sorely mistaken.</div>

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Pip not only did things during games but it was MJ going against Pip in practice everyday that took his game to a whole other level.</div>
That may be true, but has absolutely nothing to do with what we are talking about.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">But I guess you forgot what happend before Pip came into his own and was a lesser player. No titles huh?</div>
LOL. So you attribute Bulls' titles to Pip joining the team? Do you really think that MJ's game was on the same level as a rook as it was when Pip joined? Maybe MJ just improved, and that is why they won.

I love Pippen but you are giving Robin too much credit.

You really need to check yourself on this statement. And why would the Clippers suit him best if he does leave? [IMG]

I never knew what lesser meant, thanks for enlightening me. [IMG]

Yes,Pip joining the team and becoming the player he did is as much a reason for the Bulls success as was Mike. And for you to say otherwise is ridiculous and uneducated.

Whoever said Mike's game was on the level as a rook as it was in his 'prime'? I sure didn't. But by Pip's 2nd year Mike was considered the best in the League and yet they went nowhere. By Pip's 3rd year his game had elevated to the point where he was true threat on both ends of the court...to say Mike could have done the same with someone like Orlando Woolridge(a lesser player)is completely assinine.

I don't give Pip too much credit you give him too little.

LMAO. That statement is exactly why I defined lesser for you. You still don't seem to know what I meant by it.

This coming from the guy who thinks that he was better than Drexler. [IMG]

You've proven your point, but ignored/minsunderstood mine.

    Back to Shaq and Kobe.

Give me an example then of,for the times, who was a 'lesser' player that could have stepped in and do the job Pip did for the Bulls. Give me an example and I'll concede your point.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Trail_Blazer76:</div><div class="quote_post">I knew that someone would say this. I really don't think that Jordan needed anyone. He was fortunate to have Pip, but didn't need him.

If he could win with Luc Longely as his center, he could have won with a lesser sf.</div>

Mike probably wouldn't have won most of those, if any, without Pipen. It also helped a lot having guys like Grant and especially Rodman for the last 3 years around too.. Duncan is the only player I really remember winning it as the lone superstar, but he also has a great supporting cast around him. So referring to "I really don't think that Jordan needed anyone," I completely disagree.

This thread title had me questioning things..

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">Getting back on topic, it seems Shaq's mind changes daily depending on his mood. The Laker soap opera continues with the same characters involved in the [love] Triangle Offense. Stay tuned for exciting developments for the summer. Will Phil Jackson return? Will Kobe part ways with Shaq? Will the Glove and the Mailman be back for another season of the Laker Soap Opera, or are they one year castoffs?</div>
You made that sound like an episode of Survivor.

They both have to realize they need each other. It's not too difficult to understand, Shaq needs a consistent, and reliable second scorer. They may hate one another at times, but at the end of the day, they make each others jobs a hell of a lot easier. Just put the egos aside and play ball.

Put Kobe on a team by himself, and you are looking into the world of Tracy McGrady.

By lesser I meant lesser in comparison to Scottie Pippen specifically. Not lesser as far as caliber or "rank" in the L.

    Come on, drop it.

The thread title says 'Shaq on Kobe'

I've seen you in a lot of fights as of late, learn to let it go sometimes.

LOL dawg I know for a fact that you are educated so stop playing, lol.

I could say that Marko Jaric is a lesser pg in the league, because he is bottom of the barrel.

I could also say that Yao is a lesser center than Shaq, because although he is elite, Shaq still owns the 5 spot.

The latter example is what I was looking for.

Which "lesser" are you talking about here?

that's a cool thing for shaq to say... but i just think he said he needed kobe because he wants his second punch player to be someone a caliber of kobe not less... he said in his biography "Shaq Talks Back" that he wouldn't mind letting Kobe take over the team and become the first option and he basically just commits to being the second option and focusing on just defense and rebounding in the future but i doubt it....

anyway, i noticed kobe taped his ankles thick for games this season... do you think this is just one of Karl's advices for him?
