og15 deals are usually that way but i think this one is 20 million flat. in 07 + a lot of ppl will be paid way more than shaq, garnett, kobe, etc. Plus the salary cap will be higher in the future.
Hmmm...their's not too many deals that are split up evenly throughout the contract, and I wasn't saying the Heat would have any problems or Shaq would be overpaid, I'm just saying his effectiveness will decrease, and he will still be taking a large chunk of the cap. Even then he'll still be better than most of the centers as long as he can stay healthy.
