An army of 7 foot stiffs is the best weapon against Shaq. Like tons of little planes fighting Godzilla, if the games are close, each player can get off the bench and Hack-a-Shaq, not exactly slowing him down, but stopping him enough so that he's racking up points in slow mo. Damp has always actually been effective against Shaq, even in his "so-so numbers" days when our center was Adonal Dampier. The Lakers are in the W's division. I can't find the matchup lists right now, but Shaq has never dominated Damp, while Damp has always been charged up against Shaq and had a few career games against the Lakers. One of those semi-rivalry things, I suppose.
Shaq has no real competition in the East. His best competition is going to be Ben Wallace, and even than, he still doesn't compare. Just look at what Shaq did in the Finals. He averaged over 26 ppg against Big Ben and just thoroughly dominated him. So, there is no real answer for Shaq in the East. They just need to hope that he has an offnight or something, cause, the only way anyone in the East can stop him is if he stops himself. Otherwise, Shaq is too big and too strong for any of the Eastern big men.
