first and foremost, get Grant, Brogdon and also Simons of the Team, and see what Shaedon and Scoot can do. Those two are the future
I’m no Grant apologist but this is hilarious. The point is that Shae is already there; the two points and two assists difference are barely beyond statistical error. How is Grant the obstacle?
Haven't we seen what he can do all year? He is averaging 39 minutes per game this season. He going to have good games and bad games. Making him play with less talent is not going to help him out. And it sure as hell won't benefit most fans.
you know what the dilemma is? I can't decide whether to post in the Sharpe's Dilemma thread or Sharpe's Ceiling thread. I sure hope somebody doesn't make a Sharpe's Mystery thread
Maybe i am putting words into his mouth but id be willing to bet he means he wants to see what sharpe and scoot can do without having to defer to a vet or someone whos been on the team longer/has a higher check, and force him to try and do more. I do agree they dont need less talent but they need talent that isn't going to take the ball out of their hands as much. But I do agree a handful of them need to go but maybe not all of them, just a matter of what kinda return we get out of it.
I don't think anybody wants to trade them in a fire sale. We should get equal value in return, so he wouldn't be playing with less talent.
I am not sure I have seen those proposals. Seems like they are usually ending contracts and draft picks....or something unrealistic. And if they are equal value then why make the trade? No one is giving us equal value that is younger.
Well, I agree it is nice to have assets in case an Ayton scenario occurs again. But you have to admit the odds are not great. What were the offers for Ant last June? Nothing that we wanted if I recall correctly. Good young 2-way forwards are tough to come by. How about Grant? Is a team willing to send a good young forward to us so they can pay Grant 30 million in the next few years? It's possible but highly unlikely. We can move him but I doubt the return will be beneficial this year or next. Probably a salary dump with a pick. (Which I know some of you are good with but I would want more) Malcolm is the exception. Teams hoping to be contenders should want him. Contending teams who lose their PG to an injury should want him. Toronto, Miami, and even the Lakers IMO all need him. But to think we can find teams for all 3 players and get equal value seems unrealistic. And again I think some on this board don't care, they just want them gone to free up minutes....... which is stupid.
All good points. We really probably need better coaching... Somebody on board with who needs to be developed AND who knows how to develop them.
