I was impressed with how quickly he moved the ball in some of the possessions, the game is clearly slowing down for him
By mid January he will have shown that he is what we need next to Dame. I just hope Ant's value can hold and that Cronin has the balls to trade a guy he just extended. With Justise on the team (if healthy) we have another player who can run the point so we trade Ant and whoever else to upgrade another position as much as possible.
This guy is so smooth. He could be getting 20+ a game even without plays being ran for him if all of his teammates would just keep him on their radar.
That’s probably the most impressive thing about him. When he gets the ball, he doesn’t eat up a lot of clock. He makes a move and if he doesn’t get to his spot, he passes out. I also like that he got opportunities to bring the ball up the court last game. I remember a game vs DAL during CJ’s rookie year where we blew them out and cleared the bench, and CJ couldn’t even bring the ball up the court and we had to sub the starters back in eventually.
Dude Winslow never plays you can’t rely on him. He misses tons of games every year. It’s why teams never keep him.
I don’t think you necessarily need to trade Ant to start Sharpe. Right now, we could start Sharpe and bring Hart off the bench. Sub Hart in for Ant early. Or, whoever between Ant and Sharpe is hot, sub out Hart for the other.
I don’t think you need to give him starter-minutes, but I think we should give him starter-like-touches in reserve-minutes. When he’s playing this efficient, idk why he shouldn’t get 10 shots and almost a guaranteed 10 points at a minimum. Even when he doesn’t get a dunk, he gets fouled. Sharpe has started 4 games already. Seeing as how load managing players, he’s going to get plenty of chances to start the rest of the year. Good chance he’ll start in at least 15. I’ll take that. I assume any Hart trade would signal Sharpe entering the starting lineup as a full time starter though.
I'd really like Billups to answer the question, "Hart logged 30 minutes against the Nets. He had 6 boards and 7 points, and the opponent was noticeably sagging off him to cover Dame. What did he bring to the game that made you play him 50% more minutes than Sharpe, who seemed unguardable as he shot 7-9 and went for 20? Why was Hart the better choice to close out the game?" I get team chemistry. But if Nurk can ride the pine because Eubanks is completely outplaying him, so can Hart when Sharpe is clearly the superior option.
