Shawn Marion is possibly the best man defender in the league.

I think he should be the current DPOY.

As much as I love Kirilenko, I think Marion would improve the Nets more.

It makes a ton of sense for all three teams to pull of a Christmas blockbuster.

Carter to Utah, AK to Phoenix, Marion to New Jersey.

Every team gets an upgrade and a player they desperately need.

This trade would make all three teams better, and make the Jazz and Nets MUCH better.

And then we'd all wake up.

There's no way that the Marion situation is going that long without getting resolved. If it were to happen though, I'd probably poop my pants with joy. Seriously, it would be bowel-clearing joy.

Carter is pretty much untouchable for various reasons, one being he just signed a contract and can't be traded yet.

I don't see the point in trading Marcus, boki and RJ. We get a definite upgrade at the 4 which we need but we just kill our other postions. A team built around a few guys does not work, come on Nets fans we know this.

I prefer we go after AK because he would cost less to get.

i agree as well...i'd rather give less to get AK than give more to get Marion. Andrei's much younger, and with more touches and a different coach, i could see him producing much more, and we'd have the probability of losing Marion after 2008.

20 mil a year for Marion is beyond ludicrous. Man...what is with all the malcontents this summer. They should all be suspended for a year without pay.

First of all, lol @ "bowl-clearing"

But I wouldn't like putting Wright at the 2. Put Marion at the 4 and then start who? Magloire? So Boone and Krstic off the bench? Unless of course we need defense, so Collins would get minutes. That situation leaves Boone or Krstic getting limited bench minutes, and I'd want to see our better players on the court. Plus I want to see what Sean Williams can do.

I can't say that we would suffer offensively, but rather our offensive identity would be changed. Of course what does worry me is that when our offense goes stagnant we don't have a singular player to bail us out.

    Kidd, Wright, RJ, Marion, Krstic.

That's a much, much better starting lineup than the Nets have right now.

The "singular player to bail us out" plan isn't working. This team would be much better on both ends of the floor, even though the PPG would go down a bit.

Am I the only one not really understanding why so many people would move Vince for AK or Marion as opposed to RJ? I mean I like RJ and all but RJ can not do what Vince does. RJ is a talented player no doubt but he is not the superstar Vince is and RJ can not go on a streak and drop 40 on any given night. Only problem Vince really has is a coaching one and thats the team not moving the ball aroudn at the end of games and leaving him to Iso. Change the play and all is well. If it came down between the 2 I would trade RJ before i would trade Vince.

so that our team would have a strong defensive identity with RJ over VC. and so that the running game would be strong, with RJ and AK alongside Kidd.

It's RJ and Boki Marion for me. I think Wrightwoulddo a good job at SF. He and Marion could run with Kidd. Bernard Robinson could defendbigger forwards. Nachbar's going to be an FA next year and we do not have the resources to keep him. If we lose him now, aswell asRJ, we could have Krstic, Marion, Wright, Carter, and Kidd as ourstarting five. If we want to overpower our opponents we could even put Marion at SF andhave Magloire, Collins, Marion, Carter, and Kidd--a really big, rough team. I'm not sure about trading Marcus though.

I would rather trade Vince, but RJ is a better fit in Phoenix. Also, that trade can be made right away.

The reason I included the Jazz is that Vince is worth more to them than any team in the NBA. Their starting SG is Gordan Giricek, and they need scoring from that position to get them to the next level.

As for Marion, I can't stress enough how perfect a fit he is for the Nets. He is the lockdown man defender the Nets haven't had since - well, you know - and Jason Kidd needs that now more than ever.

Also, Marion's value is decreased anywhere he goes except if he goes to the Nets.

He plays with Steve Nash, and he's been fortunate that's the case.

    Re: Shawn Marion :

Thinking about it, Marion could work for us in many ways. He's dominant and versatile. I like RJ but he can't defend power forwards the way Marion can. On the other hand, Marion can cover Lebron the same way RJ can. I am not convince about Kirilenko's lateral defense.I saw a game where Lebron dropped 50 on him. Lebron could notdo that to RJ or Marion. Let's trade for him and put Wright and Bernard Robinson at SF.

    Re: Shawn Marion :

Oo nga. You have to consider that he may lose much of his scoring in LA with Kobe. He would do just fine in Utah with Deron, but his best bet is to play with Kidd.I also failed to mention how his rebounding could really help the team. Was in the top 5 in rebounding, I think,in the last two years.

    No. All the time.

When he doesn't have the ball, he's a below average offensive player and a world-class rebounder.

The Nets have a nice team. I dont get why everytime that a high profile player is rumored to want out, the Nets fans on this site want them. I mean why must all news revolve the Nets? Just one of the reasons I miss BBW
