Cowherd is a trip. Can't remember CJ's last name. Portland needs a reboot. Didn't see Cowherd as a LA Media Whore, but if it looks like a duck...…. "give Portland a call" he says. Shoot first PG, sounds like CJ to me. Dame comes down and tries to get his teammates involved. CJ for Ingram, Kuzma, and picks SURE!! Maybe Pop has no leverage, but I admire him for trying to sock it to the Lakers. Funny how he mentioned injury prone towards established stars, but seemed to be short sighted that Gonzo Ball can't stay healthy in his rookies year. I wouldn't go near Lonzo with a ten foot pole.

I'd flip him for as much as we could get from the biggest shithole town in the league. Just to hear the Ball's whine.

Uh, and nobody is being held "hostage" when they make 30 or 40 million USD/per. Poor usage of that word.

Lonzo is not a generational talent. Not even close. He may someday be a serviceable starting pg, I’m not opposed to trading CJ, but trading Dame for talent that’s not even close to his is a quick way to be a bottom feeder, by the time Collins and Lonzo are even close to ready to make Portland sort of good, their contracts will be up.
Lonzo can’t shoot, like at all and none of his other skills are good enough to overcome that, he’s not 6’8 and strong like Simmons, Giannis or Lebron.

Dame was 4th in MVP voting and 1st team all NBA and you want to trade him for Prospects that proven absolutely nothing? There’s a lot of history in the NBA of teams trading stars for packages like that and basically never works out for team trading the star.
I’m all for moves to get better but this one doesn’t and it’s it’s pretty unlikely any of those young guys are ever good enough to replace what Dame is.

I wouldn’t trade Dame if there was a REALISTIC path to success in Portland... unfortunately there isn’t, and he is 28... so instead of waiting and hoping for a miracle in the next 3 years and risk him walking like LMA, I would look to sell at peak value to spead up a rebuild... you live in some fantasy land

Which is fine to feel that way, but Lonzo Ball is a long ways away from being Good. The Lakers future draft picks would be basically useless because Lebron and Dame would keep them far away from the lottery. Dame is good enough there HAS to be better packages then that.

"speed up the rebuild". That's laughable. There is no need for a full fledged rebuild. That's asinine. Even if You got "Ball"less, and Zack becomes as great as we all hope, maybe then, they both decide to leave Portland , and you're right back to that "rebuild" AGAIN. That's madness.

    1. That’s just your opinion of Ball... most professional scouts disagree with you

    2. Trade would be for more than just Ball...

    3. Trading stars not working is made up by you... you only need to look at Paul George trade last year

"fantasyland". If that's a place where maybe, just maybe, Portland somehow gets to the promised land, then yes, that's where I hang.

"Lillard is held hostage" ha ha. Los Angeles writers are chauvinists (superiority complex) about their big city (yet losing team). Why aren't Oregon sportswriters returning fire with forceful articles?

Total USC and Laker whore. Has been for the last decade at least. He always pimps the places where he feels will give him the biggest opportunity to increase his base. Los Angeles is clearly one his his targets.

Not liking this package is fine... but you need to build for 3 years down the road... what I don’t understand is the mentality that you would rather go down with the ship than trade Dame for assets... and let’s be real, Dame’s value will NEVER be higher then right now after getting in 1st team...

I have never read or heard a scout professional scout say he’s a generational talent, and it’s not an opinion it’s a fact he is a bad shooter AND his shot mechanics make it hard for him to get shot off.
The Paul George example is a bad one, as Indiana is in the East so that helps them a lot, and George also had to play with Carmelo who at this point it’s pretty obvious he just isn’t good and he demands a lot of touches.
There are a lot more examples of it turning out poorly for the team trading the star then vice versus.

Instead we have perpetual blowhard Canzano who, spends all his time tearing down every Oregon based team that doesn’t treat him like he’s a god.

Oladipo didn't work with Westbrook. Looked like he regressed from his Magic years. Indiana lucked out there. On the draftpicks, if low draftpicks are so coveted, then let's be patient and see how "OUR" low draftpicks (Simon, Trent Jr.) turnout.

Okay, build for 3 years down the road.

I'll take an NBA 1st Team caliber PG 3 years down the road. Oh wait, we already have him.
