Shots fired Highline College in Washington state on lockdown after reports of gunfire - CNN https://apple.news/AhZBHpV73R2-m8nFGTvfzZw
"But authorities haven't found evidence of a shooting, Ohashi said late Friday morning, some two hours after police first responded to the reports."
Legit questions and maybe a suggestion, though it may cost too much on the backend of the site. The Florida Shooting thread was locked down I see due to too many insults. Is it possible or is there a way to maybe give a warning to those who insult in a thread and then if they still do it, just ban that person from that thread? This would still allow the individual to access other threads and participate, but also allow those of us who want to discuss it without insulting to continue to do so? I know I would have loved to continue my conversation with Rive regarding gun laws and the shooting. I also know that its a hot topic that cna push certain peoples buttons, but I think we should not take the right to discuss away from those who can refrain from insults, because a few people are not able to? This may be more work than its worth, but I for one would love it to at least be explored and see if its possible. @Denny Crane @SlyPokerDog IS this guy a mod? @SlyPokerCat
SlyPokerCat is not a mod, lol. Multiple other threads have popped up to discuss gun laws. If it would have been one person I would have left the thread open but it was multiple people including one staff member. The thread needed to be shut down so people can get their shit together. Since the thread was closed there have been zero problems today in the other threads discussing gun control. You are free to copy and paste your previous discussions into the other threads. Closing a thread due to multiple personal insults by multiple people is an extremely rare occurrence so I see no reason to make new forum rules over it. The decision was mine and mine alone but it does seem to have resulted in a more civil discussions in the other gun control threads. Thanks for asking about this!
understand why you shut it down...don't understand how Denny could still post a reply to my post after the shutdown (next day) and you could give his reply a like after it was closed ....if a thread is closed, it should be closed to everyone here is my point.
Staff can post in threads after they are closed. I honestly don't think Denny realized that the thread was closed. It just looks like a normal thread to us. I also posted in the thread after it was closed. Once to tell everyone that it was closed and two times after that to post about some the victims in a way that everyone would agree on.
