I agree with Kingspeed that the Spurs do it because of age. Our guys are relatively young. They do not have to play heavy minutes, but I think it is too much to ask to sit any of them. Lopez is the only one I would be really cautious with.
This is not an old team like the Spurs. Pop rests his guys (especially Timmy and Manu) because they need it.
I mean seriously, on what planet will Damian Lillard be cool with "resting" against a Division Rival?
It also needs to be said that the Spurs know exactly what it takes to get to the Finals (and occasionally win there). The Blazers haven't earned the right to take nights off.
I don't like the idea; two of our slowest starts have come the game after the starters got to rest in the 4th. I think the team plays best when they play their normal minutes. Small sample size, I know, but it's something to think about. Who do we play after OKC?
Well we fired our old terrible medical staff so hopefully the risk of injury are much lower. I say we play the team like normal but if the Thunder get up big early then pull the plug.
