Can we keep Kanter? Might he sign a one year deal with the intention of signing a longer deal the year after once our big contracts come off the books?

I really like him, but I don't see him signing for 5 million per year.

But like the poster above said, he could sign a one year deal for less, stay in this culture he loves, then sign a bigger one with us when Turner and Meyers finally get off those atrocious contracts.

I could see him doing a one year deal to stay with the Blazers if he likes the culture and believes the team is a contender, and that he could get a bigger deal afterwards. He's still young, plenty of time for another big contract.

For one year if he believes it could lead to a title run?

I think it's possible but certainly not a sure thing.

One thing that might matter a little more: A starting center position.

Just about every other team, at least most of the playoff contending ones, either don't have a starting position available for a player like Kanter or are in the same financial situation as us. He's guaranteed to be the starter here until Nurk is fully healthy and even when Nurk comes back it could be awhile before he's ready for anything more than spot minutes. I don't see Kanter getting much more than about $10 million a year type offers so maybe he bets on himself putting up big numbers in our system next year and continuing to put to bed the myth that he can't play in the playoffs. It might be wishful thinking but I'm leaning more towards him signing a 1 year deal.

He's gonna get more than a one year deal, I guarantee it. Also, it will be with my blessing no matter what they pay him. Well, almost no matter what. $10 Million? Done.

Did they have to use the tall angle lens to get you both in the shot, or did the photographer take it from the next room?

Look, it's a blessing in disguise. Do you really want a bunch of out of staters moving here? Even if you're an out of stater, thank your lucky star that you're here and start helping in keeping other out of staters out.
And when I say stater, I'm not talking about the stationary part of an electric motor.

I disliked him before, he was just that average guy who thinks he can trash talk anyone. But now I see him in different way. Props to him, team before everything.

Skal Labissiere time ... Looks like Kanter might not go for the semi. Skal should surprise us all.
I hope we get to see him play. Next man up baby ... As long as we have DAME, other guys should just play whatever role ... Dame will take care of the rest.
