    We have longest streak and it includes a 19 point win in Utah. So, no.

    Yes but Utah was missing Gordon Hayward so it doesn’t count.

    Longest active streak. Rockets had a 17-game streak end less than 2 weeks ago, and are presently on a subsequent 5-game active streak. 22-1 over a 2-month span. Only loss visiting the league's #3 team, 3rd road game in 4 nights. Hotter than Portland overall.

    I disagree. Dame and CJ always look this good. It’s our 3rd-7th guys that are FINALLY stepping up.

    We were missing Gordon Hayward too so it's even.

    I’ve asked before, are these “rankings” for THIS week, or overall? Like if PHX won 8 in a row, would they be thrusted up towards the top for a week or so? Because I strongly do not believe we are the BEST team in the NBA. Just curious. Sure am enjoying this streak though!

    Of course it is how a team is playing lately. Wouldn't you just look at the NBA standings if you wanted it how you think it should be?

    The emphasis is on the word POWER Rankings. The way I see it, it's attempting to get at, based upon play in the past week, what is the ranking of the teams in the league in terms of how tough you would expect a game against them to be this week. As an example, does any sane person think that the Blazers would be favored against a healthy Warriors squad in a 7 game playoff series? Not likely. On the other hand, does a sane person think that, given the comparative way the healthy Blazers and dinged up Warriors played last week, that the Blazers would be more likely to win a game over the Warriors this week? Sure.

    These things are click bait for attention-wanting fans to get their weekly jollies over. It gets boring to read week after week that the West is going to come down to the Rockets vs. the Warriors and the East will probably be the Raptors vs. the Cavs or Celtics.

    Depends on the rankings. Some are definitely "what have you done for me lately" and some are more long term focused.

    It means if we go to war with North Korea and the rest of the NBA season is cancelled then Portland will be declared the champions.

    Underdogs....is that like a projection that they could lose based on lots of data? Doesn't guarantee it will happen but there are some very smart people who make a lot of money that put together those odds/projections.

    Throw that crap out! Can't believe Vegas even exists. :biglaugh:

    Yeah, HOU (and UTA) has definitely been on a tear.

    Post All Star Game:
    POR = 12-0
    HOU = 12-1
    UTA = 10-2

    Last 15 games:
    POR = 14-1
    HOU = 14-1
    UTA = 13-2

    Last 20 games:
    HOU = 19-1
    UTA = 18-2
    POR = 16-4

    Last 20 games:
    HOU = 23-2
    UTA = 22-3
    POR = 20-5

    If you just look post all star game or last 15, POR is as hot as anyone. If you go back 20 - 25 games, both UTA and HOU have been winning at a ridiculous high rate for an extended period of time. Since the all star game/last 15 games, POR and HOU have both had very tough schedules. 8 of UTA's last 11 wins have come against lottery teams (2x PHO, 2x SAC, MEM, DAL, ORL and DET). They are taking care of business and beating the teams they should beat, but they haven't been running the gauntlet POR (or even HOU) has been lately.

    Just asking. I think by some of the responses on here, kinda felt like they thought these guys were saying we were the best team in the L.

    They are saying we're the hottest right now and to the short attention span twitterverse, that's the same as the best. For now. Until the next new best comes along.

    If the streak is still alive this time next week, a bunch of people will be saying exactly that.

    I see it as saying the Blazers are currently playing as well as or better than anyone in the league, and if they are able to continue playing at this level, then they very well could be the best team in the league.
