Jrue has been a thrown in Dame's side a lot.

Locked him up in the playoffs when the Pelicans beat us.

Got traded to the Bucks for him...but then he goes on to win a chip with Boston while Dame had two lesser years with the Bucks.

Now Jrue is on our team while Dame is hurt...

    Just one of those things..

According to Haynes both Dame and Portland have interest in reuniting

Kinda hope he does for 3 reasons.

    1. It'd be done and over with
    2. It'd be a good story
    3. It'd be another player that the Lakers or Warriors don't get and their fans think they are entitled to.

It also gives you a clear franchise player when you go to sell the team who has massive respect in the community.

I think signing Dame would be a mistake. They went and got Jrue. Can we please give Scoot a chance? Just one season without having someone hanging over his shoulder? We all know that Dame is going to expect to start when he gets back. How is that going to work? He most likely won't be anywhere near as good as he was. I think this is obviously enticing but it would be a mistake.

I don't think he will be what he is now in a year.

He wouldn’t play for a year so Scoot can showcase his cause all season. First season back from surgery Dame would probably gladly play limited minutes so I think it’s up to Scoot to go take that starting job or lose it

Dame isnt gonna play limited minutes. Hes one of the most "have to prove it" guys the league has ever seen.

He can go play for other teams and do his last year here.

Will Dame accept a lesser role if he's physically limited? Kobe, Klay, and many others did not. I kind of think Dame will expect the same treatment as when he was the 29 year old star here.

If he accepts less in whatever role is best for the Blazers I'm fine with bringing him back.

If he wants to be guaranteed some role here - probably better he work through that dynamic first with a different franchise that doesn't have so much history on both the player and team side.

It gives you a name that was a franchise player previously.

He might never be that player again.

Supposedly Dame believes he will be back by the all-star break.

Dame time is done time for PDX, he didn’t play the kind of ball we need to see from our current team and is not what he once was nor will he be again.

Yeah Scoot and Shaedon deserve a chance as thee starters at the guard spots. People talk about them not having what Dame had when he came in the league and of course they're only now the age he was when he did come into the league but Dame also was given the keys to the team. These two need to at least feel like they are the number one guys at there position.

Of course there is. We get Scoot and Dame. Dame has a couple of good years left. He will be a Blazer at some point. Why not now? He's not going to be the guy. Anyone against it just doesn't see the whole picture and wanted him gone to begin with IMO. Let them build their own Fantasy Basketball team this Fall, They can almost have anyone that they want

If Dame returns it will be because he knows while he might be a star and I will agree he prolly cannot be that Dame time Killer Clutch he once was on a consistent basis but if some count him out like Nate and Sharpe then be prepared to eat some crow.
