Again, look at the hand placement here. It's on the side of the ball. So the elbow is out, whether you think it looks it or not in the still image. Because if his elbow is in, his hand isn't under the ball, and he's shooting his one-hander off to his left.
Man, just watching that little clip- Simons is going to be great! COME ON Terry, PUT. HIM. IN. AND.PLAY HIM!!!
I can't believe I am wasting my evening debating details with a guy who is so miserable about the Lakers trading for Anthony Davis that he's trying to pick fights with everyone over literally any little thing.
He's shooting a floater and his should, elbow, and shooting hand are all in a straight line. The hand on the ball is due to fore-arm rotation.
It's not my fault you don't know your terminology. If I said some dumb, obviously false stuff like "C.J. shoots like Marcus Camby" then I'd EXPECT people to point out I was wrong.
Do you realize what "Elbow out / elbow in" really means? If his "elbow is out" that means his elbow is "outside of his shoulder". That's it. You can have your hand on the side of the ball and have your elbow in, because the forearm can rotate with the elbow in place. Curry has his hand on the side of the ball and his elbow definitely isn't out. You can bring up the ball with your forearm completely horizontal and if your elbow isn't outside of the line between the shooting shoulder and hoop, then your elbow still isn't out (you'd just have a messed up shot-line). Almost every good shooter lands in front of where they shot too.
I think the thing that is weird is his arm goes out on his follow through instead of up "into the cookie jar". I don't think that's a bad thing necessarily. Dame's was like that too early in his career, just not as bad. Darius Garland's shot has it too.
It still has a good release angle on his arm and I dont think his arc is all that bad. Low set points and releases are becoming more common. If its quick it works
Now the argument is over simons shooting form hahaha THIS FORUM SUCKS NOW. Someone suspend me and put me out of my misery
Whenever I go look at old threads, I laugh because its always been this way, maybe more hyperbole, but it doesnt seem like much has changed.
Relax guys, it's sunday. No reason to freak out. We can freak out when we lose Hood, Kanter and Seth in free agency and replace these guys with trash players like Stauskas
Huh what? It is realistic that we gonna lose all 3 Players, and we dont have the money to replace these guys with good free Agents.
The talent on this roster.......wow In order I got 1. Simons 2. Dame 3. CJ 4. Collins 5. Tie with everyone else
If the future of this franchise is dependent on Simons, Trent, Skal, and Collins - they may as well just move the team to Seattle (or Helena, or Fairbanks).
