I disagree that it isn't for big men. The problem is that they use just the young guys. Let anyone that really wants to do it do it, not f*cking TyTanium who just wants cash.
Next year they gotta get Rudy Gay, Rodney Carney and other guys that can just do some crazy dunks. Until they get a bunch of guards and forwards in this with the creativity and athleticism to put on a show and give each other competition we will never see the best that these guys can do. I know Green could've done way better than his last dunk but he didn't wanna waste a dunk he can use next year and didn't wanna risk injury so he did something easier just to guarantee a victory.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Rok @ Feb 17 2007, 11:19 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Right on. I really expected a lot more than what Green delivered with his hype. Howard got robbed and it led to seeing Nate Robinson's debacle in the Finals. He was obviously winging it at the end, while Howard seemed like he had some creative ideas. The sticker dunk got rated lower than his first dunk. What gives judges?</div>Ya, I know freaking MJ. He's such a high scorer and only gave 1 10. Nate just got boring at the end. He started to do easy dunks and then his 10 attempts to do the final 1 was just ridiculous. I thought Dwight would of made it though. Showing how high he can dunk and catching the ball with his other hand. That's creative. Also saw how Tyrus broke the mesh, but his dunk over Gordon was ok. And one of the GG dunks from the pass over the backboard kinda looked like the one that Darvin Ham did to break the backboard. It was like the same dunk basically. Would of liked to see it break.
man, I felt so bad for nate, I wanted him to win even though it was obvious he wouldn't because that must of been embarressing
Man James White would have ripped thoe guys apart. I expected more out of Green. It was almost like he was holding back on that over the backboard dunk.

this was the most boring dunk contest ive ever seen last years wasnt that good but it denfinatly was wayyyyyyyyyyyyy better than this year.

Even if Gerald was first, I dont think he could have thrown a top 10 all time at all. Sure he didnt do his best. But top 10 all time? I didnt even so close to that from anyone today.
First of all guys, Gerald Green can do better than that. His first 2 dunks were nice and the windmill over the mini-table was solid, but Gerald can do better. He didn't need to bring out his bangers this year though, because Nate's scores were so low. I guarantee a nasty one next year.Dwight was ROBBED on that sticker dunk, that was bullsh**. A 42? Give me a break! Also, Tyrus Thomas ripping the rest of the rim down mumbling "get down *ucker" was so stupid. But hey, GERALD GREEN IS THE CHAMP baby!<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (RaptorFan#1 @ Feb 17 2007, 11:32 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Bullsh*t. man I know GG didnt want 2 waste a good dunk 4 nxt year, but dam it wouldnt have hurt 2 do a throwback dunk from 1 of the judges.

I expect next year GG will do some crazy.
I agree about gerald green being able to perform alot better.I also think dwight got robbed. dayum I thought it would've been fairer judging from the legends but jordan and dr.j were bit biased with weird ratings like for example for dwight they give him 8 while nate does a crap one they give him 9 and when he does even crappier they give him 8 and when gerald green does his worst one of the night they give him 10.
Dwight Robbed, Tyrus Sucked, Nate shouldn't be there and G.G can do much better.as it's been said, this dunk contest was average at best.
I promise you all, you will see at least 1 dunk tomorrow that is better than half these dunks. Pathetic, pathetic dunk contest. Outside of GG, who was on cruise control, no one was even in his league. Every year there needs to be 2 dunkers that can bring out the best in each other in the final round. This year that didn't happen.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Rok, trust meGG has way betterbut he didnt need to do his best dunk to beat Nate this year</div>I clearly think he should have put on a show, especially when he has it in the bag. That means he has nothing to lose and can go all out. And instead we get treated to two ordinary nothing special dunks to close it out after his best dunk. Disappointed and I don't really care about next year, because I'm living right now. And he did not live up to hype imo. Also, I know he probably could do better but because he didn't, that's why I felt it sucked.

Remember back in 2004 when Fred Jones missed his last dunk and J Rich didn't have to do anything special to win? He could have gone up and put in an easy dunk and took home the crown but, being a showman, he tried for an all time dunk (I can't remember what it was exactly, but it was crazy). Green shouldn't have held back for next year, he should've shown the world what he can do and put on a show (even though for any other participant his performance would have been amazing).
I love Gerald Green. His dunks were solid, but like noted, I think he can do better. Howard's was amazing too. Loved his sticker one.
I dont understand how GG got a 50 for the same dunk dwight did just with a table there, which really isnt anything special, anyone in that contest could have done it and dwight gets what a 42? Judges were bad IMO. The nate rob one when he grabbed it from lee was lame and got a 9 from mj who was the hardest judger. I dont understand the dunk contest anymore.
Dwight Howard shoulve been in finals...but great sportsmanship by Nate...both Green and Howard had tons of showmenship....Green deserved it...well done.GGs windmill was maybe a foot from the free throw line, and he extended his hands all the way down...
