Anyone went to their clinic? Been hearing the commercials on 1080 for years and thinking of giving it a shot. Suspect I am not getting enough quality sleep and a C Pap machine does not sound good.
I keep tellin y’all... all you need to do is smoke a blunt with an indica strain and then jerk off and you’re guaranteed AT LEAST 6 hours a night.
Isn't your wife an MD? I get sleep apnea from acid reflux. Treat the acid reflux and the sleep apnea goes away. If I only treat the sleep apnea the acid reflux causes other medical problems. Don't take medical advice from a dog but your sleep apnea can be symptoms of other medical problems. Treating only the sleep problem might be ignoring/masking other problems.
She is here in Vancouver but this group is in Tigard. She also boarded for pediatrics and that is the majority of her patients. Her opinion was that there was not enough data and it is pretty expensive. My doctor referred me to another group but they never returned my call. Had not pursued anything else as I was also having neck problems. Was not sure if the neck issues was causing my poor sleep or if the neck issues were due to not breathing and trying to get air in my sleep. Been sleeping all this week without a pillow and getting better results. I have always snored very loudly as well.
My doctor sent me to have a sleep study about a month ago. They hooked me up to a bunch of wires and then monitored me as I was sleeping from a separate room. It was very peaceful. Then, 10 days later, they told me I had sleep apnea. They brought me back in and hooked me up to a CPAP machine and then the wires again too. A week later, they told me that they know the right CPAP machine for me. My insurance company will call me to work out the details. I hated the idea of a CPAP machine before all of this but now I'm looking forward to it. My brother, who is a doctor, said I'll have a lot more energy and will lose weight. I don't care about the weight but the more energy would be great. Nowadays, if I can, I sleep at least 12 hours a day. Hopefully, the CPAP machine will help with this. I'll keep you up to date.
I got a cpap machine a few years back and it didn't really do much for me except annoy me. I basically stopped using it completely. Then, decided to do some hard core dieting. My sleep apnea cleared up completely after about 100lbs. Now, I've put 20% of the weight back on and am nervous the apnea is coming back slowly. I need to start dieting again.
Did not go with Sleep Medicine Group. My Dr. Wife as well as my personal doctor wanted me to go with the sleep medicine group from Vancouver Clinic. Took awhile to finally get everything approved thru insurance and then read the results of the at home study. Found out that I do not have sleep apnea but do have issues when I sleep on my back. As long as I stay on my right side, I have no issues. Now, to just sleep on my right side.
My wife has a slight need for a CPAP but she refuses to wear one. This does not seem to be any impediment to ordering me to wear mine. There is a fairly benign sleeping medication called trazadone. That seems worth a try.
Can't sleep on my side during my three times a week medical procedure. Then there's the issue of both sleep apnea and paralysis of the left half of my diaphragm. Have to take a CPAP with me to these procedures so I can sleep through what otherwise is 5 hours of hell. I had my sleep study done at the VA. The seemed to know what they're doing. My latest CPAP sends in daily readings to the VA via an RF (radio frequency) signal. The VA keeps track of how I'm doing.
Usually any medicine that I try to take for sleep leaves me tired waking up. Only thing that works for me is marijuana. I cut up edible mints into fourths and that is enough for me. Back pain goes away and my sleep is good.
