This reminded me of my brothers and I as teenagers, when my dad and my uncle would send us out in the snow and ice to deliver heating oil. I wish video or cell phone cameras had been as ubiquitous in the '70's as they are today. We would have had a seriously entertaining compilation of greatest hits and near misses. We still have a photo from the front page of the Oregonian of my brother and his jack knifed truck and trailer closing down the (still very new) Fremont Bridge. Free advertising..........and fun times........
I was just teasing. But I am curious about you getting a paper. Which one? Does it come every day? Is it more than 4 pages?
I kinda miss getting a daily paper. I actually used to have a dog who would go pick it up and bring it in for me. If you can get a cat to do that I'll eat my hat.
a friend of mines house is in that clip. She is in Gresham. Had the tree slam right through her living room. Luckily the house is vacant and for rent. some sad stories in here, especially the electricution story. So sad. Here is another one that Portland could have avoided. I’ve had run ins with this department and it took me over a year to get a tree removed from my old house… only AFTER the winds uprooted it and it tilted and leaned against our garage. Prior to that they were denying me the removal. wtf is with Portland not allowing home owners the ability to remove these threats on their own property??? fucking Portland…. https://www.wweek.com/news/2024/01/...r-last-week-the-tree-slammed-into-their-home/
Looks like perfect weather for NFC championship game. Sunny and mid 60s. East Bay could hit 70°F Unfortunately by midweek another atmospheric river expected, temperatures dropping 20° F and heavy rain. I had planned on starting to pull out winter cover crop Monday but it's staying another week.
Same problem here with Centurylink. They couldn't get anyone out until the 31st. I switched to Verizon and they sent me a modem which I plugged in and that was it. Today I'm on the phone trying to disconnect service with Centurylink and I've been on hold for 35 minutes so far. I tried to disconnect online but the message said that since I had "preferred service" I could not disconnect on line. WTF - Centurylink is the worst - spread the word!
CenturyLink is TERRIBLE. And they also sell service under the name of Quantum Fiber. Just don't do it. Do anything else. Had it for a month. When it was up it was great! But it was only up like 8 days out of 30. They need to go out of business.
So interesting how people's views differ..... Have never had any problems with CenturyLink to be honest until this. Finally came out Saturday. We landed from San Antonio at 3am....in bed by 4am and they were knocking on the door at 8am. Was told the $100 charge would be if it was the modem in which I guess I own. They checked everything and he said he'd fix it and not tell them it was my equipment. Very cool of him. Got a brand new modem and router and another one to plug in upstairs. Internet is WAY faster! SONOS speakers connect 10x faster. Wondering if when he asked what I did and told him I'd hook him up with some Blazers tickets might have helped?
I'd guess it was the sexual favors you offered rather than the blazer tix, but we'll never know for sure which he valued more. barfo
