Why would something that would be so detrimental to your favorite team cause you to lyao? Seems contradictory to fan-dom (fan-hood? fan-ship? fan-ness?).

It's incredibly self-defeating, indulgent, and egoist to follow Blake's every minute with the Clippers.

If someone posts right now that it's halftime, his team is 15 ahead of the Kings, and after starting again, he has 8 assists in 19 minutes, I will just gag me with a spoon. How can anyone be so callous?

I hope no one does that.

Steve Blake in his 2nd game with the Clips:

    DOUBLE-DOUBLE
    11 pts, 12 Dimes, 40 mins

Clips got their 1st victory under their new head-coach. Outlaw should play within the next week or so.

The power of beating the Sacramento Kings! A true accomplishment in Steve Blake's career.

First, I'm a little surprised at the title of this thread; looking back I can't seem to find any threads devoted to talking about what Steve Blake is doing now or more than a couple posts and how he is doing and one of them seemed to be elicited by this very thread.

Anyway, it will be interesting to follow; I know that while watching our atrocious defense against the Celtics, I wondered if even though Steve is not a great individual defender, maybe he really helps on team defense; maybe there s some reason he had good +/- stats.

And it will be interesting to see if he can keep pace with his 3.5 assist to turnover ratio that he has so far. How he does that with a team he has never played with is amazing. Maybe it's because (as another poster pointed out) that he only has to be a true point since LA has both a very good allaround scorer (Gordon) a good inside offensive presence (Kaman), and another pretty good three point shooter (Butler).

Or maybe there IS a problem with Blazer offensive schemes. It's only two games, so who knows? Anyway I think it will be fun keeping up with Steve and speculating on how it might reflect on what the Blazers management have done and are doing, not to mention he will remain one of my favorite players and I just like to watch his progress.

Here's something I never thought I'd witness. Steve Blake makes that Clippers team work better than it does under Baron Davis. Mostly it has to do with Blake setting up Gordon and Kaman regularly and often and in spots where they can get their shot off quickly (granted it was against the Kings who are brutally bad) Ralph Lawlor was absolutely gushing about Steve Blake tonight ... and it was mostly deserved.

Blake was good for the Blazers...when they were 10 games below .500 a few years ago like the Clippers are this year. He's a stopgap PG that keeps you from being completely terrible but won't get you to the next level.

To be fair, Blake was the starting PG on a team that ended up with the 2nd best recored in the West last year. That's better than terrible, IMO.

Blake is more effective as a PG, than an off-guard. But, being a selfless kind of player, is willing to take on that role, which robs him of stats.

Regardless, being able to torment all the Blake-Haters on this forum whilst he is playing well: PRICELESS!! :devilwink:

Hopefully the same for Outlaw too, once he starts playing on Monday, I believe.

The Camby for Outlaw / Blake trade was universally viewed as a slam-dunk for the Blazers. So far, quite the opposite. Of course, it's still way too early for any conclusive arguments. This should be fun to follow for the rest of the season.

I don't see why someone would be willing to set themselves up for the inevitable drop in production that Blake will see.

It was kind of like how certain posters were celebrating any and everything Sergio did after he was traded to the Kings. And then he returned to earth and back to the Sergio that couldn't get minutes on the Kings and might not even be in the league next year.

    Good point.

After all, once Baron returns, I would certainly expect a drop in Blake's numbers. Still, when a trade like this happens with certain expectations, it's kind of fun to track.

I agree, and I do think Blake will see an inflation (maybe temporarily) in production. In the right role and system, he's a valuable player. He was not used right here, and in some instances, used in a bad role.

He'd fit, imho, perfectly in the Lakers system.

Too bad the Lakers have better players in Brown and Farmar and the Cavs have Williams and Gibson.

    Blake is a good starting PG....on a team 10 games below .500.

Blake had a career year last year. This year he's back to his normal self.
