I think we really found ways to frustrate them, however we really need to find an answer to their frontcourt. Their size is killing us... Being able to throw Bogut, Green, Varejao, Speights, and Ezeli at us is really killing our post play offensively and defensively. Don't expect to win but I expect fire at home! Let's go Blazers!
It's good that the Blazers got this far, they wildly exceeded everyone's expectations (except for KingSpeed), but also don't forget that the only reason we're in the 2nd round is because of injury, and the only reason game 2 was remotely close is because of injury. Portland is not close to being a contender.
Every season I hope our playoff loss will queue the GM to actually plug holes in the roster. Since the entire front court is the issue this year, I'm not optimistic we'll be able to upgrade to anything near a contender.
The reason we are in the second round is because after being out hustled by LAC in games 1/2 we came out and out hustled them in games 3/4/5/6. The injury made things easier for us, but it in no way opened a window that ceased to exist before CP3 went down. This is the kind of bullshit I've been hearing from Warriors band wagoners...
Does anyone think that players take notice of where this team is this year after rebuilding on the fly? Is Portland a destination that many NBA players now see as a lucrative opportunity? We've got a great leader in Dame, and plenty of talent to go around. A sales pitch of "We feel like we are close, and we see you as somebody who can take us to that next level" is a pretty good one, especially if we continue to play the Warriors hard.
I'm fucking crushed. We should have won that. Those quarters are the difference between winning the series and getting swept.
Is there a "This loss fucking sucked" thread that accidentally merged with the "so proud of our team" thread?!
So this is like the second round experience we got playing the Spurs two years ago? I know its a new squad but winning > experience and we had this game firmly in control until the choke at the end. Yeah yeah, we should't be here, playing with house money, blah blah blah but how long are we going to ride that as an excuse.
This forum is shit; nothing good can stay good in it. There are people on this forum who have to piss on anything nice. I love the Blazers though.
Not s**ting on this thread. Just putting this into perspective. "Playing with house money" is the most tired, trite phrase in the playoffs. I remember when we "were playing with house money" when we got the #1 pick in 2007.
