Whomever we get, it's going to be in the Steve Blake vein of "jesus, I guess it's not the end of the world for 15 minutes" player. From what I've seen in SL, it isn't Smith. I like how Nolan looked in Game 2, but he's proving in my mind to be a pure SG at the NBA level. If he were 6'5 instead of 6'2, there wouldn't even be a debate about it.
The question now is he good enough to be our 3rd string PG. Or do we need to find 2 PGs before the season starts? It sounds like he has been working hard to improve his game. But at which position? The fact that he has not actually played the PG position in the SL does not help tell us for sure if he has also improved as a PG. We can guess, but do we know for sure? Again it sucks if he is out the rest of the week, but at least the coaches should know.
IF you have a choice between Price and Watson, how is this even a debate? CJ is clearly the better option.
Chris Haynes @ChrisBHaynes Ronnie Price will join the #Blazers Suck it, Bitches I KNOW NOTHING, remember that
I actually kinda like Ronnie Price. He's not as bad as this board is about to say he is as soon as they see the signing.
Pretty obvious who the starting PG is going to be, eh? Let's hope nothing happens to Lillard, because a Price/Nolan Smith rotation at PG just may be enough for me to check out for a season.
Is he a good PG? No. He's not a complete scrub. I dont mind giving him spot minutes like he had with the Suns and Jazz in years past.
He can jump, I guess... Ronnie Price Robert Pack...
He has experience. That's the most positive thing I'm going to say about him. If it's for the vet minimum, it's fine with me. I certainly expect nothing of value from Price on the court, so anything he does well will be a pleasant surprise.
