How much cap space do they have? Since he's coming off his rookie season, isn't Houston possibly limited in how high they can go to match?
Quick again: 1m1 minute ago Jason Quick @jwquick Source inside Blazers says no Rasual Butler. Blazers will build on model of young players, or favorable contracts, with upside as players
Because KJ was a 2nd round pick, I think there is a limit to what Houston can offer him. Now since they are below the cap, that might change things...someone please clarify.
@AlexKennedyNBA: As @EricPincus noted, Houston can match KJ McDaniels offer, but they must use cap room or exception since they don't have Early Bird rights.
So going just over the MLE gets us KJ McDaniels (if we are interested, which we've heard nothing this far).
I'm thinking a 4/24 offer should do the trick. Yes it's a risk but so was the time we signed Wes Matthews. It's worth taking.
I said "I see little risk". I did not say there was "no risk". That being said, there's plenty of time available for CJ now, even adding KJ.
Ive been on the KJ bandwagon for a while but .....who is Perry Ryan? Looking at his Twitter he seems no more connected than s2 boardies.
If we can sign McDaniel or Green, I think we package Kaman and spare parts and offer them to Milwaukie for John Henson. He's a young player with upside who can't be too happy seeing Monroe taking his minutes. If I'm correct, he's on his rookie contract and the Bucks would likely have to go over the cap to resign him after the big money they just threw around. It would certainly make us better than we currently are.
I wouldn't mind that all. But with Plumlee and Davis, we might want a big who has some offense. But I do like him.....
Was listening to the NBA channel on XM and the pundits were throwing around the idea of trading for Joe Johnson and his 1 year contract. It could be a decent stop gap for next year going into the 2016 season.
