With 8 new players coming in to the Blazers, how does their potential rotation look now? Can Taureen Green compete for a spot with their 4-5 PG's?
Their drafts the past 2 seasons have been great. Steal in McRoberts dropping in the 2nd round. Oden, Aldridge, Frye, McRoberts, nice young core of big guys.

Maybe over Jarret Jack if he works hard. but if Stevie stays PG, i doubt he'll liek a rook startin over him.
Stevie is out of here, he will most likely be bought out. Green will not be the starter, I think that belongs to Jack unless of course he gets traded in which case we would probably sign Blake who would then be the starter. Green could possibly beat out Sergio if it comes down to a case where we have no Jack and no Blake then he would probably be the starter. Sergio IMO serves better as the back up energy guy.
Here is their roster: LaMarcus Aldridge Rudy Fernandez Steve Francis Channing Frye Taurean Green Jarrett Jack Petteri Koponen Raef LaFrentz Jamaal Magloire Josh McRoberts Darius Miles Greg Oden Travis Outlaw Joel Przybilla Sergio Rodriguez Brandon Roy Luke Schenscher Ime Udoka Martell Webster Possible starting lineup PG: Sergio Rodriguez SG: Brandon Roy SF: Darius Miles PF: Channing Frye C: Greg Oden

I know hes got some attitude problems but i think hes still got some game that could help a team

ESPN reported that Steve Francis' contract which had a remaining two years on it will be bought out by Portland. He will become a free agent.
<div class="quote_poster">MrJ Wrote</div><div class="quote_post"> Possible starting lineup PG: Sergio Rodriguez SG: Brandon Roy SF: Darius Miles PF: Channing Frye C: Greg Oden</div> Aldridge should start over Frye. He would have seriously challenged for Rookie of the Year if he were healthy all of last season, and his high-post game compliments Oden's lowpost game extremely well. Here's what I think their projected depth chart will look like - PG - Jarrett Jack/Sergio Rodriguez/Petteri Koponen/Taurean Green SG - Brandon Roy/Martell Webster/Rudy Fernandez SF - Darius Miles/Travis Outlaw/Brandon Roy PF - LaMarcus Aldridge/Josh McRoberts/Channing Frye C - Greg Oden/Channing Frye/Joel Pryzbilla/Raef LaFrentz I guess they can keep Koponen or Fernandez overseas, even though they say that they want to play in the NBA next season, and they probably won't resign Magloire, Udoka, or Schenscher. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">ESPN reported that Steve Francis' contract which had a remaining two years on it will be bought out by Portland. Why not just release him? or trade him Cuz wont the Blazers still have to pay him his contract for the next 2 years even if Francis plays for a diferent team? Just tryin to figure out how that works.

I don't understand why they wouldn't just keep him or trade him either but maybe they didn't have any other choice. All I know is that they are trying to work out a buyout. Maybe they feel with his injuries that he's just not worth it? I don't know.

If Portland buys him out, it's not going to be for the entire contract. They'll negotiate a deal and pay him a lump sum of money.
I use to like Francis I have not seen him play much because he was on a horrible team. Did he get that bad? lol
how tall is francis? if i remember correctly he's about 6'4" right? well thats enough size for SG. have Roy as your starting PG and Francis as SG. Roy is a good passer and can handle the ball very well. but i dont think francis fits in with your teams plans, so maybe a buy-out is the best option. it would be good if you guys could trade him, along with miles and somebody else for a good SF like Odom or RJ and a filler, that would be a great trade, another great role player to fit around Roy and Oden.
I would like to see them keep Francis he would be a welcome Vet on a relatively inexperienced team and he's a proven scorer, however if he doesn't work out then perhaps a buyout is best. What are Portland's plans for Darius Miles?
PG - Jarrett Jack SG - Brandon Roy SF - Darius Miles PF - LaMarcus Aldridge C - Greg Oden The Trailblazers have an amazing amount of young talent. I expect Martell Webster to have a big year and be the starting SF midway through the season.
Is Francis really that bad now? I thought he just sucked in NY because they have like 4 scoring PG's.
