I guess it really all depends on the Rudy that shows up. Is he the Rudy from his rookie season, or the Rudy from the playoffs last year?
Rudy, like Roy, like Matthews can handle the point in a very limited capacity. Coming out of a time out at the end of a game could work. For extended minutes when the other team has time to prepare for it..........I just can't see it. I have flashbacks to the game in Philly a couple years back. But I would like to see Rudy try it with Roy a few times at the end of games. The other team would double Brandon and Rudy would be open. (or someone would be ) As a matter of fact, at the end of a game I wouldn't mind seeing Roy, Rudy, Batum, Matthews, and LMA on the floor. (On the Offensive end) Spread the floor, but it would be Roy and Matthews attacking the basket, not Rudy. But hey that still works.
This game will be archived for only a day or two more, so watch it while you can if you can get ESPN3 (it helps to have a carrier like Comcast). The game was Oct. 18, between two of the best European teams. They have some former NBA players--Real Madrid (Sergio Rodriguez, Sergio Llull, Jorge Garbajosa) vs. Olympiacos (Radoslav Nesterovic). Our Sergio brought the ball downcourt for most of the game. He got layups in the first 8 minutes, then couldn't make shots early in the 4th, then made a long 2-pointer with about 2:30 left. video of the whole game (watch while you can, could be gone in hours) http://espn.go.com/espn3/player?id=73149&league=Euroleague&size=condensed Sergio interview before the game http://translate.googleusercontent....IUzAZzw8dI6zImE_G7XvndXI-gw#xtor=RSS-32280322 boxscore after the game (don't peek if you're going to watch the game) http://translate.googleusercontent....le.com&usg=ALkJrhh_98FFKxs_k7evEhbs71cGGccKHA
If you don't want to watch the game, here are 2 minutes of highlights. Sergio is #13 in the black uniform, the guy bringing the ball up the court almost every time. The first 2 baskets are Sergio making layups. In the middle of the highlights, he gets his layup blocked and falls to the floor. http://translate.googleusercontent....QnO-XdgaTumz7evW1S1q2vOE0VA#xtor=RSS-32280322 really ugly box score--the other one is more readable http://translate.googleusercontent....le.com&usg=ALkJrhhEHiMz8r6yKjmm1pY3OeA9_Md28Q
I saw everything I needed to see.... Sergio was 3-14 from the field with only 1 assist for the game. Of course, I'm sure that's just Nate McMillan holding him back still, right?
