While the Raptors and Cavaliers begin their search for a new coach, some of the possible candidates may have eyes for
other jobs, especially if the rumors circulating are true. According to a knowledgeable league source both Isiah Thomas and Maurice Cheeks jobs could be in jeopardy if their teams continue to falter in the playoffs. It?s been said that should the Pacers lose to Boston, that Isiah Thomas may be let go, there is growing concern around the team, that while Zeke has a great relationship with his players, his X and O strategy, clock and on court personnel management are leaving some questioning if he has the skills to make the Pacers a title team. In Portland,
Maurice Cheeks may have had his job saved last night, as word of a sweep was likely going to trigger a release. There is talk that Portland is ready to get aggressive in the offseason in order to re-shape their troubled image, and this may include upgrades at the coaching and even general manger role. There is talk that Bob Whitsitt may get promoted, and another GM type brought in to help run the team. It?s also said that Jeff Van Gundy has eyes for the Blazers, and that isn?t going to help Cheeks keep his job, if the Blazers struggle. It seems the only thing that secures Cheeks as the coach is a Finals run, and that?s simply not fair for Maurice, but like the Commish says? It is what it is.

    MALONE IN DALLAS?
While the Jazz gear up for their next game, a source in Utah says that
Karl Malone is not only finished in Utah, that his wife may have already decided Texas is the place to be next season. The Malones were rumored to be shopping this summer, and that leaked out in a Sports Illustrated interview causing a huge rift between Malone and owner Larry Miller, both were said to have talked the issue through and came to an agreement about talking this summer, but from what is being said there may be nothing to say. As it?s said that Malone will want a huge amount of cash to stay with a rebuilding Jazz club, and there is talk that joining the Mavs or Spurs may have more appeal to the aging Malone, and he?d sign cheap to win a title.
