How about frickin running a bit Roy, instead of passing the buck.
Roys gotta take his finger out, stop coasting on the good work he's already done(big contract), and lead by example.
He takes it easy some of the time, especially in transition and on defense. This keeps him from Kobe/Wade level.

Hopefully at a lower playing weight and back at his natural SG position he can RUN some more.

I remember during his rookie year Roy said he actually likes Nate's slow offense because that's the way he likes to play. Roy really has no interest in running, which is a shame because Miller is great at running the fastbreak.

Whatever, play slow, be last in fastbreak pts in the NBA again. The offense needed no help in the Houston series last year.

You guys are acting like change is easy. Do you really expect Roy, who has played the same way his whole life, to be able to change on the spot?

If his peak is a perennial 23/5/5 guy then I'm not sure what the beef is.

I just find it weird that the majority of players in the NBA love to get up and down the court and run(especially guards). Roy, not so much.

a 23/5/5 that is unwilling to improve his game outside of his stats? to elevate his team? thats the beef he wants to be as good a kobe? he needs to improve the holes in his game....like being able to adabting to the players around him....kobe did, jordan, magic...all the multi-ring men did.

20/10 unwilling to change or make his team better and a whiner? ZBO ZBO ZBO ZBO

He can't do it, get over it.

Miller can't shoot, Blake can't penetrate and Oden can't do behind the back dribbles on the fast break. There's just certain things players can't do and you just have to live with it and play to their strengths.

Maybe he's just the Tim Duncan of shooting guards.

Please then, explain what each of those players changed about their games and how long it took for them to do so.

With an NBA physique like that, and the millions in the bank, I don't think it's asking too much of Roy to run.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
If he dedicates himself to playing great defense, in addition to his offensive productivity, sure...he can be the Tim Duncan of shooting guards and that'll be great. ;)

    You're right.

So like Roy said, the rest of the team will have to sacrifice running so Roy can go "all out".

Soy Roy is only putting up stats just to get his? I'd buy that if his career year last year had been done inefficiently, jacking up 20 shots per game. Of course he has some holes in his game, but I think you overstate just how much Kobe, Jordan et al. adjusted their games to "adabt" to the players around them. Certainly I think Roy can make minor strides, but most of that work is going to come in the off-season, not during the season when practice time is at a minimum and the only mandate is winning, not experimenting with your game.

The fact that you think Zach is an apt comparison just makes me laugh ... So this is what it comes to, Roy needing to assert himself and play to his strengths and not to his weaknesses makes him bad guy and a black hole.

Have a nice day fellas, I'm going to step outside and get some sunshine, this place is spiraling into the void today.

So all Roy needs to do then is to chase his big man out of town because he has to dominate the ball. Then when he can't win without him, maybe he can get Oden to rap diss him and then he should win the next year.

How is the rest of the team sacrificing? You think everyone else on the team can run too? Or do you think we should play to the strengths of our 5th best player in Andre Miller?
