Roy can't run because he's BAD AT IT. We've seen him do it and it leads to turnovers.

Pryz, Blake, and Howard can't run. The rest of them, I think probably can. Although we'll never know for sure.

I just hope the Blazers trade Miller because I'm just going to get mad watching the Blazers waste his time here and instead go with Steve Blake, who despite his great game last night, is often not even a big factor.

Trade Miller, please. Stop wasting his time. He avg 16pts/6asts last year for crying out loud. Now he'll average 25min a game.

I'm sorry, but this is bullshit. Nate never even tried pairing Miller and Roy in the back court. The best we got was that ridiculous three guard lineup. I don't see how Miller is "dominating the ball". He's not even close to a Damon Stoudamire or a Sergio. He doesn't dribble around the perimeter until something happens. He moves the ball and finds the open man. He is the only guy who consistently gets Oden the ball in the post. Blake has been terrible this season, yet he continues to play.

Stop making serious posts. They just don't seem right.

Anyways, besides LMA, Rudy, and Miller, I don't think any of the players have shown a consistent ability on the fast break. And even if they did implement a faster offense, I can't imagine Nate approving.

if your team can get easy points and it makes you work that much less hard why would you want to waste so much energy for the same amount of points 2?

we saw what his way did in the playoffs he got tired and we got our ass handed to us on a brick platter.

Have you forgot about the Houston match up and his style? thats all you will see in the playoffs......

I think the Blazers should try and create more opportunities on the fastbreak since they continue to be one of the worst teams in the NBA when it comes to fastbreak pts.

They don't have to be the Suns or Warriors, but they don't have to be Charlotte, either.

It should be tried for a 5 game stretch at least. Or how about having Roy and Miller play together in some stretches in actual game time and see how it works.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Why does Roy have to run? Let everyone else run. Roy can trail on the secondary break and be the half-court initiator. It's not the typical thing, to have one of your guards trail, but everything doesn't have to be by the book. Miller, Aldridge, Oden and Webster all seem like guys who would do well running. Rudy and Bayless too. Oh, and Batum and Outlaw when they're back.

Basically, everyone except Roy and Przybilla. Przybilla doesn't have to (his value is largely on defense and rebounding on offense) and, as I said, Roy can get his touches when the team goes into half-court sets.

Blake seems like he'd be as good on the break or in the half-court. I'd say he's running-neutral, in terms of his abilities.

That is SO much easier said than done. You think the coach just says "let's run" and we all of a sudden start getting fast break points?

thats the problem with the nate/roy combo niether of them runs so thus they hold the rest of most of the players who are runners from running

oden and LMA are both runners....why cant roy too?

I wish Andre Miller would suddenly develop a three point shot. I mean, who is he to hold back the team by constantly bricking jumpers from outside? It is his own fault that he ends up getting benched. What a selfish player, he should be traded.

i twisted it back but if it wasnt for the blazers the nba would be dead to me....some people dont want to hear about the flaws on the team and roy is flawed and his grow will be limited if he is unwilling to do what is easy rather than always doing things the hard way.

what is easier? dribbling into 3 guy wall or running by one or two in the open court? we saw what the former caused in the playoffs.

I'd love to see someone worthy of the nickname 'Sarge' come in here and whip these young athletes into a bunch of run 'n gunners, force them to utilise their athletic advantage, instead of playing down to their opponents.

    Run TMC 2.0 FTW!

dont get me wrong i like roy and what he can do its the combo of nate and him i dont like...gives roy too much power like tanking it in the 3 guard line up to get his way...and nate waffles after every game while throwing a good many of the other players besides his "dawgs" under the bus.

i am tired of nate mcmuffin.

I can't understand this "Roy can't run" bullshit. Dude was fine getting up and down during his days at UW.

Because Brandon might be Reggie Miller +D, instead of Rip? Nobody said that the idea is to turn Roy into someone else. I would like to see him add another facet to his already stellar game.

Maybe you've mistaken me for a Miller apologist. I'd be the first to say that I thought he'd play better than he has so far. I also don't think he's been given a chance to succeed. He's new to the team, and it takes time for PG's to figure out when and where to get the ball to his teammates, especially in the weird lineup he started in.

The three guard lineup didn't give him much of a chance, because Roy plays out of position in that lineup. It might work with Steve coming off the bench and Martel playing 3.

Roy's statements have always been pessimistic about how well he and Miller could play together. Even with Dre starting with Brandon at SG, Brandon would have to be committed to making it work, by committing himself to learning to play well without the ball. If Brandon's not committed to making it work, then Dre goes to the bench (if he can deal with it without fussing), or he has to go.

I believe that, given a lineup of Dre/Roy/Webs/LA/GO, Miller would bring the ball up, call the play and pass the ball to one of our big three most of the time. I don't know that he's better than Steve, but it seems like the team should find out for sure before they have a fire sale for Miller.

    Go Blazers

No one is balking at the idea of Brandon adding to his game, but people here are expecting him to change overnight. Newsflash, it's not going to happen.
