My bad, you're right, but Gentry has a defensive skillset as well. Thibbs, Laimbeer..my number 1 and number 2 choices to start.
As it stands now there are 5 teams that can afford to pay him 7. One of them is orlando who's loaded on the wing. Another is philly. Doubt he goes back there. That leaves Utah, Indiana and Portland. I would go as high as 8.
I think so. Plus you're not really paying for what mcdaniels is. You're paying for what you think he can become. Gee is like 6 years older.
Every time I saw him play in Houston, his shot was wet. And no, I didn't only watch him play our team.
I'm kind of souring on the idea of giving KJ a contract. If we could get him for a couple mil, great, but to give it to him 7 mil because he's "athletic" is a stretch for me. The only good numbers his put up are the 2 blocks per 36. And it's a small sample size. Look at Elliot Williams who was super athletic, and looked like he could be a great scorer after his 1st year, but he's not panned out.
Seems lik You're full of shit dude. He made 5 fucking shots in Houston. And he was 0-3 from 3pt range.
Remember, the cap is going to shoot up each of the next two seasons. A $7-8M/year deal today will be relative peanuts in a year or two. That's why teams are seemingly overpaying now...because it won't be an overpay relative to the new caps.
What does this mean?? Is this correct? Note: The Rockets are re-signing Brewer via his Early Bird rights. If a team gives McDaniels more than his qualifying offer, Houston can only match using their MLE. Teams are limited to giving McDaniels MLE money, no more.
Boston was in the East. I'm not worried in the slightest about a similar scenario with the strength of the West. If we make the playoffs with the roster more or less as is it means we have young players greatly exceeding expectations. Something along the lines of two potential allstars plus Lillard. I'd be more than fine with that scenario. I'd be ecstatic. Sure we'd lose the draft pick but it means we have one of the best young cores in the conference.
Most posters in this thread are wrong. Its the same scenario as Asik and Jeremy Lin's contracts. Houston can match any offer even if its above the MLE. Let's say we offer him ~$25 million for three years. If Houston matches it'll hit their cap as $5/$5/$15. If they don't match it hits our cap at $8,$8, $8.
