Glad you hear you're ok P.A.P, just hang in there, as Tupac said, keep your head up. I've been going through a bit of a health scare myself recentley, so I know how you're feeling.
I'm glad you caught it early Pap, it does sound frustrating having another ailment to start another year (imagine how Grant Hill or C-Webb felt the last 5 years). You handled it well, I probably would have ignored it and not went to the doctor or just freaked out and get stressed.
<div class="quote_poster">P.A.P. Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Well I went to the doctor and it turns out I have Bell's Palsy. Since they found and diagnosed it almost immediately it can be "cured" or fixed soon instead of having permamnet damage. According to the doctor, I have inflammation of a facial nerve as a result of a viral infection or something like that. I was given Apo-Prednisone (5mg a tablet) to help the issue. I have to take 16 once a day for the first 3 days, 12 a day for the next three, 8 a day for the next three, and then 4 a day for the next three. I have to take them all at once with food. It's really depression for me even though it may not turn out to be anything big. I had to tears coming down my eyes when the doctor was telling me about it because I already knew about this disease. After having pink eye for two weeks, having a broken wrist last year along with other issues I was hoping for this year to start off different. Instead I'm hit with this. What a way to start of the new year.</div> Thank God you went to the doctor and they diagnosed it quickly. I'm not sure about how long it will affect you or what not, or how long you have to be on medication for it, but I hope you get better soon man. Yeah, pink-eye or any eye-related bodily malfunction is something that's really annoyingly difficult to go through. I still have a problem with my eyes (although it turned out not to be pink eye) and it's really annoying; it kinda changes your confidence level as well cause I hate when my eyes get red. Anyway, hang in there man.
If you have a problem with someone posting issues on this forum J-ray, don't voice it. Most of these people treat each other like family and friends. We all share at least (and with most of us, it's multiple) common love, basketball. There is nothing wrong with posting a personal topic here, hell, one of my best friends I met on the boards. I know hang out with her at least once every three months, but we talk all the time. As a matter of fact, I just went on a double date with her, my girl, and her guy. The JBB family is a lot closer than you think.
Man things could have been worse. Good that you went to the doctor right away. Don't worry you'll be good in a few weeks. Hope you're feeling well.

If you read my original post, you woulda read that I said I wasn't trying to start anything
<div class="quote_poster">P.A.P. Wrote</div><div class="quote_post"> I was given Apo-Prednisone (5mg a tablet) to help the issue. .</div> That **** sucks. I had to take it last year for an intestinal problem I had and it sucked. I put on like 50 pounds in a couple weeks and I got acne all over my chest. Plus I never got tired while I was on them... I would be up for 3-4 days straight. I hope you can eat all those pills without having to deal with those crazy side effects. Good luck with everything.. I hope you get better nice and quickly.
Holy ****, I just read that more closely and I'm on the same stuff right now for an intestinal problem too. I had just skimmed the post before but that's pretty weird. I've been on it for a month now and also gained weight (about 20 lbs.) and have acne on my chest. My sleeping patterns are screwed up too so I guess those are pretty common side effects. I'm tapering off of it right now and in a few weeks I'll be completely off. The stuff works but it's kinda a pain in the ass.
<div class="quote_poster">Umair Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">So how'd you say you gained 20 lbs?</div> The medicine that P.A.P. is on can make you gain weight and I have also been taking it for the past month and a half. It's a steroid and when the doctor put me on it, he said it's normal for your appetite to increase and that I would gradually gain weight.
Man, I'm really sorry to hear that. I'm impressed that you went to the doctor immediately. A lot of people just wait on it and it gets worse. You were smart, and went to the doctor immediately, which should ameliorate the permanent side effects. <div class="quote_poster">Swish Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">The medicine that P.A.P. is on can make you gain weight and I have also been taking it for the past month and a half. I've gotten lots of steroid injections in my spine for my back issues. They really do **** up your sleep. Bah.
