McCarthy kicked Adam Schiff and my congressperson Eric Swalwell off committees as punishment for impeaching previous guy. Also Congresswoman Omar because she is a Muslim and immigrant. But insurrectionist Marjorie Taylor Greene, white supremacists Paul Gosar and liar and fugitive George Santos or whatever his name is got plum assignments.
One of my good friends and I had this conversation not long ago. Basically we are both married, him with kids and me hoping to have one or two soon. We both work our asses off and own our own homes. Basically living the life most people hope for as they settle into their middle ages. We both have it really good and just try to enjoy what we have and not get bogged down in all the negativity going on in the world. Will I try to change the things that I can control and leave the world a better place ... yes without a doubt but I also work 60 hours a week and just want to enjoy the free time I do have without worrying about things outside of my control. Yes prices will go up on just about everything, inflation will come and go, social issues will always change, I just try not to get all wrapped up in the argument/controversy of the moment because another is just around the corner.
I could be the nicest person on the planet. Florida still considers my existence so evil children would be irreparably harmed if they learned of it. Other states doing the same. A recent study showed 25% of hiring managers in a variety of businesses want fewer Jews in the workplace. What happens damn well affects my life.
