Entrance clearly marked for Patrons with Disabilities. Pretty sure Spike's speech impediment qualifies him.
Spike Lee is the face of the New York Knicks fan base and has been for years. With respect to our resident celebrity, to dispute that Spike is the face of Knicks fandom is just inaccurate. Whether you believe what the Knicks (aka Dolan) put out or what Spike said, this is a horrible look for the Knicks, not Spike. The Knicks have alienated their fan base worse than any team in the league and this is just another step down that road. If the Knicks felt like they had to respond they should have taken the opportunity to apologize to Spike for the miscommunication and tried to repair the relationship. The same thing they should have done with Oakley. Instead they get defensive and seem arrogant. They don't have the good will to fall back on in order to make these types of moves with individuals who for years have been positive images of a Knicks brand in desperate need of positive imagery. Something another poster said that I have to dispute is that the Garden is a dump. Maybe it's just the lore and lure of MSG but when I went to a game there (not even a Blazers game and not even in a great seat) I was ecstatic and nothing about my experience disappointed me. It truly is the mecca of basketball and American sports to a certain extent.
I just don't understand why Spike wants to use the employee entrance. Also-- the big revelation in this news is that Spike pays for his tickets! I don't pay for mine. Why does he have to pay for his?
