I can agree with this. I get mad at the team when I see the effort is not there, but right now they are balling and it's all I want. I just want to see them play hard, tough, and that don't give a fuck attitude. There are no partial victories, just have to seize the day. The Blazers control their own destiny and that is what truly matters.
We are about to find out how real the Blazers are this last stretch. Blazers are a combined 0-6 against their last three opponents. Gotta keep winning to stay out of the play - in.
In the words of Roco's last interview....when we lost early we were playing different people who aren't here now....it's an unfair comparison of where the team is now and what the team is like as Nurk, Norm and Roco, etc...build some chemistry...CJ and Nurk shake rust from not playing for long stretches and Dame got some rest after carrying us early......when asked if Stotts was the problem Roco said....absolutely not. We're gelling at the perfect time and getting healthy at the perfect time...I like our chances and have really enjoyed this stretch of ball with Norm on the team and Nurk back. Playoffs are a one game at a time experience...predicting failure is not how I approach the post season...I hope we make some serious noise. We could beat anybody the way we're playing.
I'm not predicting failure. I predicted the Blazers would finish the season 11-3 after their bad stretch. So far I am pretty close to being right. I have enjoyed this last stretch of winning by the Blazers. I hope it continues. The Blazers need it going into the playoffs. The Blazers can win these games. I want to see that happen. I'm saying we are about to find out how good that chemistry you're speaking of really is. The Blazers have so far passed the test down the stretch. This is the Grand finale.
that streak is actually up to 7 games and 6 wins now if my math is right 32 points 5 rebounds 8.5 assists 55% FG's 53% on three's (on 10.2 attempts/game) 95% on FT's this is the main reason I'm still a little skeptical about how solid Portland's 8-1 streak is. To be sure, Nurkic is playing better and the Blazers appear to be in the best offensive groove of the season. But this stretch has all the earmarks of the Dame-fueled winning streaks we've seen so often before. Can Portland survive a bad night by Dame against a good team? Their DNA over the last 6 years has been they can't. Maybe it's different now; and maybe Dame will stay hot for 25 more games or so (can't be perfect at 19 games)
Why not? People are injured in playoffs too. How did Lakers beat Heat in Finals? Dragic and Bam were out. Raptors won because KD was out.
