The Spurs are trying to play LaMarcus at center? They are a really smart organization, but I don't get why they wanted to throw the max at LaMarcus. It's like a desparate attempt to keep things going/
Yeah, time to blow up the team and start tanking. Seriously, we know you hate Aldridge, but they lost a meaningless preseason game by 3 points. And: "The Spurs played without Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, who didn't make the trip. Nor did Boris Diaw or coach Gregg Popovich." So, missing four of their top players and their head coach. Something tells me they'll be fine. BNM
Tony Parker looked like ass last season. Manu is a ghost. Duncan was the only guy who still looked good, and he's about 50.
Who cares? We just beat the best, therefore, we are the best. LA did the same shit for them that he did for us. 3/10. He'll be doubling down on that a lot during the regular season and go 6/20, that's a typical LA line.
And, they added a 3-time All-Star big man and David West to a team that won 55 games. I doubt if their fans are going to panic about a 3 point preseason loss with four of their rotation players and their head coach not with the team. Duncan's age doesn't matter. He's all about fundamentals, not athleticism. Did you see his per-36 numbers last season? They were insanely good, and Aldridge won't be playing center when Duncan plays. SA has a great system that allows them to be successful without their best players playing big minutes and taking nights off. BNM
At some point, age has to catch up with that team. I know people have been saying it for like 10 years, but IT HAS TO COME TRUE AT SOME POINT!
I remember the year we had the #2 pick, and watched a Texas game when LA was playing, and I hoped we wouldn't take him. I didn't like his body language or the way he moved around. He just looked marshmellow soft to me. Then we took him so I gave him a chance, but he only played like a real PF for brief stretches in his career. He was considered a 3rd wheel during the Roy era, and the only difference between him then and now, is that he puts up more shots.
"Lamarcus Aldridge has been ruled out of the Trailblazers/Spurs game due to pulling his ya'knowstring. Timetable is TBD as he goes in for his ya'knowscan. We'll know more as we, ya'know, get it."
Aldridge always was and always will be a gigantic bitch. I never liked him... Really wish we would have traded him when it became apparent that Damian was our leader for the foreseeable future, two years ago.
