Source: NBA Here is the link to NBA.com on their suspension. Amare and Diaw got 1 game, horry got 2. I think Bowen needs a couple of games himself, IMO. Oh, sorry I didn't see someone already put a link, well here's another. I think suspensions all make more drama, and it gets heated now, I like that kind of ball, where every possion can turn into something big, where fouls are no longer considered hard to the players, they feel like intentionals. Its fun to watch, but i hope nothing serious goes down. Like nash and parker duke it out, and marion jumps over bowen to get to duncan.
While Amare and Diaw's actions didn't deserve a suspension the league has to hold up the rule or else they look completely incompetent. It was really stupid of Amare and Diaw IMO to react the way they did. I understand that they were pissed and emotional but they know how important they are to their team and that they shouldn't do anything stupid. They did it anyway and now they have to pay the price. I'm sure this will happen again in the near future and if the league were to have let Amare and Diaw go clean then this incident would be pointed to constantly and its just bad for the league. Like in the real world, you may not agree with the laws but if you break them and get caught you have to face the consequences. The rule is in there to keep more bodies off the floor in an altercation, whether Amare and Diaw just flat out didn't care or weren't aware of the rule I'm sure everyone knows now and will think before they do anything, therefore the rule is working as intended.
lmfao unbeliever....just beacuse you love the suns doesnt mean that everyone has it out for them. this was what should have happened. the spurs are thugs? spurs will beat suns either way, with amare and diaw or without
The reason the suspensions were given to Amare and Diaw were justifiable. If a suspension is given to one player for a reason, then it should be given to all players. P. Ewing did this before in the playoffs, and he got suspended. I recall Doug Christie doing it one time, and he was also suspended. If you suspended them, then you have to suspended these guys, who were clearly breaking the rules that were set. It's a stupid rule, but if you enforce it on one guy, then enforce it on the whole league.

Given a fair court, the suns can beat the spurs. Even amidst all this crap the Suns have done well.
Yes they are. If you take a good look at that video, which I did 2 seconds ago on TNT, it CLEARLY shows that Tim Duncan tried stopping the fight. He came inbetween Shawn Marion and another Spurs player, and he pulled them apart. He comepletly proved his intent of getting off the bench. He didn't escalate the situation, but made it better. Amare and Diaw on the other hand, don't show that intent that Duncan showed. That is why this is being correctly enforced.
They can win, but they wouldn't in the playoffs. Fair court or not, come playoffs, Spurs are the better team. You are overlooking the fact that Tim Duncan has more rings then all the Suns players combined.

Regardless for many years people have called the spurs soft, and the marshmellow team, now that they getting aggresive and starting to show other teams not to mess with them, they are dirty? i think the suspensions are the way they should be. if horry had only gotten one game then stoudewhiner and diaw wouldnt have gotten any games. Since he got two i think to justify it they gave them one game a piece.
<div class="quote_poster">unbeliever Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Try watching this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Y39nRO5keRM</div> Tim Duncan just walked on the floor after the dunk. It looked like he was ready for a fight. He was infront of the 3 point line, and was ready for jones and elson to go at it, he would of stepped in. But he didn't do what amare did or what diaw did. There was no intent and he didn't do anything. I want the suns to win, but duncan shouldn;t be suspended just for wlaking on the court INCASE of a fight.

It's not about how they might have been in the past. It's about how they are right now and that's, in a word, dirty.

What's your point? We can make up "what if" statements about what the players were thinking, but that's besides the point.
Oh, that's a different clip? I thought you meant Duncan going on the floor during the fight. And Duncan going on the floor was due to him thinking a timeout would be called. Also, a fight wasn't breaking out, so his intent can't be anything harmful. Unlike Amare who jumps off the bench running towards a pile where a fight just broke out. Do you see the difference? But you are correct. Tim Duncan should be suspended for that. It was just overlooked since it had nothing to do with the fight.

You know that and I know that so don't bring that BS in here.

Its the one shown in the Youtube clip above. Secondly... even in the case you are speaking of... No one knows Amare's intentions as he wasn't allowed to follow through was he. The way I see it... if the NBA is going to suspend Amare and Diaw (which I understand)... they should also suspend Duncan and Bowen.

What did Amare do that was so much different? No mater how you spin it unless Duncan gets suspended as well the NBA is full of it. Point blank.

If Nash was able to play in the last few minutes of game 1, the Suns could easily could be up 3-1. The teams are pretty equal right now in my eyes. The Spurs may have been the better team in the past but that doesn't mean that's the case anymore.

He may have been rushing to even prevent a fracas as Bell and Horry were going at it and Nash was getting into it. Ewing was suspended for walking on the court and not even LOOKING like he was getting into anything. Again... the NBA is full of it. I think Duncan, Amare, Diaw, and possibly Bowen should all be suspended one game.
The suspensions were definetly unfair IMO. Amare Stoudimire and Boris Diaw got suspended for stepping onto the court in an altercation. First of all, I've got to say that rule is extremely stupid, because when something goes down, you're instinct will automatically tell you to step onto the court to back up your teammates. It's not like Amare or Boris tried to start something, they were merely trying to play peacemaker. Tim Duncan stepped onto the court after a brief altercation between Elson and Jones. Why wasn't he suspended? I was just watching ESPN, and they said a reason may be because Duncan was trying to make sure Elson was not hurt. The same could be said about Amare and Boris. Maybe they were just trying to make sure Nash wasn't hurt? Like scorbutic said in the Sun's forum, this is why the NBA will never be on the same level as the NFL. The guys that run the league seem to be doing things for their own amusement, there is absolutely no consistency with this league what-so-ever. Kobe got suspended 2 games for hitting someone in the face, and it wasn't even proven to be intentional. But Bruce Bowen can intentionally try to injure an opposing player time and time again, and get away with absolutely nothing. That's ridiculous. You're hearing this from a Laker fan btw, so there is no bias what-so-ever.
