Im tired of experts...They've hated on the Cardinals all post-season long. Under dogs in every game. Funny now how they change their opinion on the Cardinals. Before the World Series, these so called "experts" we giving the series to the Tigers in 5. One writer even joked about how the Tigers would win it in 3. Jim Leyland was the only one who realized that it wasnt going to be a walk in the park. He said at the beginning of the series that the Cardinals were going to be a tough squad to play.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I also love the assumption that the second half of that game was legit. Who is to say he didnt move the Pine Tar to somewhere else, such as in his glove?</div>I absolutely agree. You noticed the first inning when he was blowing into his hands, all his fingers were on the dirt spot. So that answers the question as to how it would help if he had it on the base of his thumb. When he "blew in his hands" He was getting the tar on his fingertips. Also, from highlights I've watched. He went from blowing his hands in the first inning, to blowing his hands and running the fingers along the bill of his cap everytime he threw a pitch. Also, when Hal McRay said he found scuffed balls, he wasnt lying. Their were about 6-7 balls.

I believe what it does is change the spin of the ball. Therefore giving it weird movement.
There are way too many ways to cheat in baseball. There's no way any game in baseball is remotely 50% clean including steroids and hidden tactics.
The Cardinals look like they are going to win it all being up 3-1 in a 7 Game Set. It would take a big chokejob now for that not to happen.....Im glad for Tony La Russa, but that's about it.But so much for that 'Superior AL' you guys have been going on about for months, eh? :whistling:
