Stack brought 13 points off the bench every game, It's not going to be easy to replace that like you make it sound.

Dallas is better defensive, rebounding, and etc. It's not like Daniels couldn't score 13 points if he played 32 mpg. Dallas does need someone to come off the bench that can bring a spark so I start Griffin and have Harris and Daniels bring that spark.

Shaq did a good job of acting like that. I mean he obviously was not that ticked off. But, damn what a huge blow to the Mavs. Winning this Game 5 will, be a pain for them.

I didnt feel like reading through the 3 pages of bickering. So heres my thoughts about it. No it wasnt warranted a suspension, but like what Riley said, it was done because there was a precedent in place. Stern and Stu Jackson has to keep consistient of their horrible suspenions from the earlier rounds. I liked the move for the fact that Stern is sticking to his plan, unlike Bud Selig's handling of the steroid issue.Dont belive the total garbage of Shaq wasnt going to do anything back. He wanted to hurt Stackhouse. Imagine that you were going full speed on the fast break and as you go for a layup someone with full intent knocks you down to your rear. Your immediate reaction is to get back up and let your anger out.In the end, this is probably good news for you Mav fans. As I highly doubt that you are gonna miss Stackhouse's glorified 34% shooting off the bench. Which will probably result in better shot attempts. For those that are wondering, I find Stack to be one of the most overrated players in the NBA today.

My thoughts:Great suspension. You deserve to be suspended if you make a boneheaded play in the Finals when your team is down by 20 and you're intentionally trying to hurt someone. That someone being a 7'1'', 300 pound monster that could have seriously been injured, or more importantly, seriously injured someone else if he fell on top of them hard.

It's Shaq ballaholic, his held to different standards than others. It was good when he was here because he never got suspended. He didn't get suspended for cussing on tv.

Too bad Stackhouse had to hit Shaq. If he hit Haslem like that there wouldn't of been a suspension. Preferential treatment gets on my nerves.

The NBA is being turned into a league of little physical play and stupid suspensions. Shaq and Alonzo's comments about the whole thing say it all. They don't even know why Stackhouse was suspended. Year by year the NBA and Davis Stern have been making more rules to get rid of physical play and I think it is a pile of krap.

Thank god Lebron decided not to go to college or the nba would be in trouble.

Shaq is 300 pounds, he falls harder then someone who is only 200. It wasn't a preferential call, it was a stupid and uneccesary foul by Stackhouse. I don't know if it was deserving of a suspension but it was a dumb move.

Re: Stack suspended for Game 5!

It was a hard foul. That was the only way from preventing Shaq from dunking the ball. There was no malicious attack from Stackhouse's part. He used mostly his body to knock Shaq down which probably surprised Stackhouse how far he could push Shaq with his body.

Re: Stack suspended for Game 5!

It was more of a hard foul, he sent Shaq flying into the seats. Why would he want to stop him anyway? The game was clearly a blowout in which Dallas had almost no chance of winning at that time. Sure, Stackhouse didn't mean to hit him as hard as he did but the fact is he did.

If Shaq were to get seriously injured from that foul, which very well could have happened, I doubt many of you would be complaining about the suspension much at all.

Shaq could get injured from anything but it's not like Stackhouse undercut him or something. Shaq though did some dirty fouls during the game so it goes both ways about injuries.

"What do I think about it? I think my daughters take me down harder than that when I come home."--- That says it all.Shaq knows it wasn't a foul that deserved a suspension. He has made comments here and there in the past about the NBA going downhill/losing money. Shaq knows the deal and he's probably fed up with it too. Stern is making this a no-contact sport.NoBallsAssociationWe might as well combine leagues with the WNBA if he is going to suspend people for this and change the rules so there is little contact whatsoever. The NBA is not half as exciting/competitive as it was 10-20 years ago. No way in hell.

The fact that Stu Jackson views Stackhouse's foul and Raja Bell's foul in the same light is ridiculous.

Also, mavsfan you say Stackhouse can easily be replaced by Daniels, if so then why are you making so much of a case for him? Stern has done alot of good for the leauge and although he has made a few rules lately which haven't been going his way, that shouldn't take away for what he has done. As stated before, he was just staying consistent with all the suspensions in the playoffs, I don't think Stack should've gotten suspended but I still don't see why he committed that foul.

Re: Stack suspended for Game 5!

A suspension for that foul was dumb.Yes it was a very hard foul, and Stack probably shouldn't have done it considering the score...but it WAS NOT malicious enough to warrant a suspension. But Heatfan, you are clearly showing your bias about it. I bet if Shaq had done the same exact thing to a little guy, like Terry or Harris, and got suspended(of course in THIS NBA a guy like Shaq would never get suspended) you'd be griping about it too.

I'm not taking sides in this, I never said he deserved it or not. All im saying is Stack is an idiot for doing it.
