With the win over the Kings, there are more reasons to consider starting Meyers--with instructions to do more shooting. Meyers seems to have the touch, the varied offense, skilled assist, and rebound success that contributes to Blazer scoring of >110 points. Meyers looked strong in the game highlights. Holding DeMarcus Cousins to 4 of 21 shooting with major input from Meyers is an accomplishment that deserves notice, and considered with strong performance against Gasol and other leading scorers does justify giving him the chance during this home series. This is progress.
Very true. He plays his best games against big guys who take it to the post. I think there is enough evidence to back that up. I will admit that he played one of his best overall games last night.
I'm not a Meyers fan at all but I agree with this. Too bad there aren't really that many big guys who take it to the post these days. That's why Leonard's defense is rarely any good. He can't guard quicker players and he's pretty bad at team defense.
Leonard isn't a defender per se; he's a frustrater, like the opposite of an intimidator. I used to play the same game. Guards would see my slow white ass and decide to drive it past me. I'd turn around and cap them as they tried to lay it up. That's bad defense, but it frustrated the hell out of them.
well cousins did drop 48 and 56 in the previous 3 days over 2 games, so it was nice to see him not get close here. although id think he'd have been a little spent tbh. meyers played decently for a change, itll be interesting to see if he can string a few together. and hit some swish3s etc
I was and am a terrible basketball player, but yeah, I always tried to bump people and create as much contact without picking up a foul.
Hehe, nice. Leonard doesn't even trash talk; he's like Po from Kung Fu Panda; he's annoying and absorbs whatever you throw at him and doesn't react. That frustrates bullies to no end.
