i'd take roy as both are perimeter guys but durant really doesn't have the ability to be the primary ballhandler on the team and still be a really effective scorer while roy thrives in that role. both are really good players though and now that durant is finally be played at the small forward position where he belonged all along, he's really been playing well.
because he scores inefficiently, kills ball movement on offense, and is worthless defensively. on just about any team you could put him on, that negates anything positive that he brings to the table.
It's amazing that a guy that shoots 50% from three point land and 85% from the free throw line is only able to be a 55 TS% scorer. That would mean his midrange/inside game is utter garbage. Once he fills that part in, he will be deadly...that is, if he ever does.
I'm sure that Durant will improve his mid range game. He's taken some good strides between this year and last year in regards to his offense so I'm sure he'll continue to improve. Plus he's what, 20 years old? He's going to get better, I don't think there's any question..
Definitely overzealous. Randolph is frustrating to watch but he wasn't bad to that degree. Per 48 minutes he allowed his opponents to score 17 a game in 2006-2007, while he was at over 30. His True Shooting percentage is mediocre but at least he got to the line and shot at a decent clip there.
I don't think Randolph is necessarly good for the Clippers. He was perfect for what Mike D'Antoni wanted to do in New York,a nd as seen, the Knicks were having success.
He's dipped a bit as well, but my point was simply to highlight a specific statement that was mentioned in this thread.
I think Moo's point was that Randolph is better than whoever plays alongside of Durant. I THINK, not sure though.
I agree. I would pick Roy as well. Better leader, ball handler, and he's also very clutch, whether its the pass or the shot. Not to say Durant isn't clutch, he's has his moments, and to his credit, OKC don't EVER have close games with anyone lol. But I'd take Roy, he is a leader, and those are hard to come by. Durant is a scorer, there are many of those.
Depends, I think Durant can be a great scorer and still needs to develop leadership skills. Roy is already a leader and is very savvy. Roy now but Durant in the long run
Durant has all the tools in the world to be a supreme basketball player - so I would say that his individual potential is higher. I would still go with Roy - while I am certain that Durant will become a better leader and help make other players on his team better - I have no vibe that he will ever be the kind of leader that Roy already is.
Durant doesn't play that much defense and can be averaging way more rebounds. He also could involve his team more. I'll take Roy.
Roy. He simply wills his teams in 4th QTRs. Amazingly clutch and has a great all-around game. Averaging almost 34ppg the last 3. And he is simply a winner on and off the court. Roy is a 20+ppg, 5+apg, and 4.5-5rpg player, along w/ doing so many things that don't show up on the stat sheet. I wouldn't be surprised if he had a 20, 5 and 5 season (he is getting 22ppg, 5assists and like 4+rpg i think). And I think only 3 other players in the NBA are 20,5 and 5 (Kobe, LeBron and Carter if i remember correctly). Roy is approaching superstar level and just turned 24. Just my opinion though. Durant has a ton of potential and a higher ceiling, imo. But if I was starting a franchise right now, i'd take Roy.
