    PG - Magic
    SG - Jordan
    SF - Bird
    PF - KG
    C - Shaq

KG and Shaq is a nice mix of finesse and strength. Malone is probably a better choice but I think KG plays a more versatile game with his ability to play inside and out.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting mrj18:</div><div class="quote_post">King James X3 Do you really think that team is the best or does it just have your favorite players?</div>

Yeah, I think that team could be quite successful. I'm not a huge Peja, Rodman, or Stockton fan but I understand what their strengths are and why there we able to be so successful at their postions. Put them along side Jordan and Mutombo and you have nearly all aspects of the game, both defensively and offensively, covered. Like I said before, it's not about the five best players at their postion, it's about players coming together and simply playing their roles in order to be successful. This team is cut and dry, the roles are defined, every aspect is covered...

I understand that but, you could have gotten players who were gifted offensively and defensively. Stojackovic is strickly offense and no defense unlike Bird who does both well. With Mutombo you could have substituded for someone like Hakeem Olajuwaun and for Rodman there are many other power forwards who are better than Rodman. The team would be succesful of course but, it wont be the most succesful.

I agree. There have been better offensive players than Peja (Larry Bird) and he doesn't play defense like mj18 said. Rodman and Mutombo are both great players but not the best at their postions. Rodman is a great defender but Bill Russell was much better. Also Mutumbo isn't as good as Wilt, Shaq, Kareem, Hakeem, George Mikan, Willis Reed, Moses Malone, Patrick Ewing, Robert Parrish, Bill Walton or Artis Gilmore just to name a few.

I'm shocked that thedude was the first to give the Big O props. Mine would be:

    PG - Oscar Robertson
    SG - MJ
    SF - Larry Bird
    PF - Kevin Garnett
    C - Kareem

Bench - Magic, Lebron, Bill Russel

Oh how sweet that would be

Indeed that's true, but like I said previously, it's more about chemistry and role playing. You can't throw together several players that thrive on touches and shot attempts, that causes a rift in the offensive flow. My team is clear cut, the roles are defined. Jordan is the primary scoring threat, Peja knocks down the jumpshots as the second option. Than Stockton, Mutombo, and Rodman chip in with their 10 maybe 15 points a night on top of their strengths.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Stojackovic is strickly offense and no defense unlike Bird who does both well. If I replace Bird with Peja, scoring becomes an issue. Who gets the touches? Jordan or Bird? Who shoots the big shots? Jordan or Bird? The Bulls were successful because everyone was role players around Jordan, even Pippen. So I placed some of the best role players of ALL TIME around perhaps the best player to ever live. That's how I came up with this team.

Remember, the greatest single season record is held by The Bulls, why? They were a team who consisted of role players and they simply did their job night in and night out. The Greatest player, The Great Role Players, The Greatest Team. You don't need every player to be an ALL-STAR on both ends of the floor, ask the UN-BEATa-BULLS...
