i said i know im dreaming, and the lineup i posted was simply one id LIKE to see...i have no clue how it would happen...its just a nice looking lineup to me
pg: tj ford sf: mo pete sf: ???? pf: bosh C: bargnani BC id imagine is eye'ing someone to fill our 3 spot, either via trade or signing
With the recent moves, I say: PG - TJ Ford SG - Mo Pete SF - Joey Graham PF - Chris Bosh C - Rasho Not that bad. I'm hoping Graham makes some major strides this season.

We really need 2nd scorer right now, hopefully Bargnani can turn into that at somepoint in the year, but I'm not banking on it. Our starting lineup hasn't really upgraded, asides from the fact that we have a legit C starting now, allowing Bosh to play more freely. We've downgraded at the 3 spot (as of now), and we can only hope that TJ has a more efficient year than Mike last year. Regardless if Mike was selfish or not, he was still very productive, and it will be hard for TJ to duplicate that, whether its by passing, playmaking, scoring or however. If we don't get someone that can make an impact this year from the FA market, the Jalen trade would be so useless considering we won't have the same space next year, in a very good FA class, with Bosh's contract kicking in. Al Harrington please
Until another move is made, this will be the lineup: PG: TJ Ford SG: Mo Peterson SF: Joey Graham PF: Chris Bosh C: Rasho
We need another scorer on team. I've said this before, right now this team isn't even much of an upgrade over last year's team. It's definitely not a playoff team. I want Harrington or at least Bonzi but that's becoming less and less likely with Colangelo using all our money to sign Garbajosa and probably Parker. We have to do seomething this season because we most likely won't have that much money next year when we have to resign Bosh, TJ Ford and MoPete. I'm going to cry if the opening day lineup is Ford/Calderon Peterson/Parker Graham/Bargnani Bosh/Garbajosa Nesterovic/Humphries Colangelo better get his act together. This "dream summer" (Mike James to use in a possible sign and trade, all this cap room and number one draft pick!@$) has been turning into a nightmare. I don't know how it's possible to have all those options available to you and barely be able to upgrade your roster.

We have a starting center, a starting PASS first point guard, more experience, and more (hopefully) defense and rebounding. Is there nothing that will satisfy you people??! Rome wasn't built in a day and rebuilding doesn't happen overnight. What would you change? Personally I see Bosh playing some 5 with Bags, Humphries isn't a 5, he'll stay at PF and you forgot Tucker in all that...I see him opening some eyes (no pun intended) All the things that posters complained about that needed fixing got fixed by Colangelo....we don't have to worry about scoring, so we don't need to go out and get more scorers. Bosh will resign this year and we won't have to worry about going over the cap with his signing....Same applies to Ford ...no? I could be wrong. Should BC have spent his money on a Harrington or Bonzi that play hard sometimes??? They both have been plagued with inconsistancy and questions to their team play, effort, in the past....not really what Mitchell and BC are trying to turn the team into. And Harrington??? He wants the dollars and where would he play??? He plays the same position as Bosh....didn't everyone already bitch about a log jam at the forward spot? It's not a contending starting lineup but it is A LOT more solid than before....and how long has he been on the job?

Having all that money, having the #1 draft pick, trading away our second best player and not having a playoff team? I don't know, I just expected more I guess. I know Colangelo's not done with this offseason so I will wait and see until he's made all his moves. As for Harrington and Bonzi, they both can play at the small forward spot, which is the position we most need help at. If we decided to go small, we could have had Bosh at center and Harrington at power forward. If you think Graham is ready to be a starter then you probably didn't watch much basketball last season. Hopefully, Parker can fill in that role for the time being but I don't see him as a long-term solution at all. All these guys that Colangelo is bringing in (Parker, Garbajosa) are good for the short term but how is this going to make us into a contender? All I can say is for the money we spent on Parker and Garbajosa (most likely $8 million total), I'd much rather have someone that can make more of an impact like Harrington (even if we had to add an extra million or two).

When you are as bad as we were (at times) last year it takes a bit more than a #1 and trading your 2nd best player (who prob isn't that good if your team is that bad) to get back on track. It takes time and you have to start by building a solid base and solid guys that are assets to teams that you can then trade upwards to get someone that will take you to the next level...and no one on the FA market this year was gonna make us a playoff team. Bonzi & Al esp. there is a reason no teams are jumping out of their shoes to sign these guys. I'll ignore your attempted dig at saying i don't know what i'm talking about....so we get Harrington or Bonzi to play the 3...then we have Bargnani, Tucker, and Graham there? Plus Parker at times. When did all these guys turn into short term solutions? How are Harrington and Bonzi any different? Also both of them would demand more money and more years on the contracts. Jerry West didn't want Bonzi why would we? Why pay him for a good playoffs and ignore all the rest of his forgetable year? Why sign one of these guys to big deals and then be stuck with them when they cry and complain and no one wants to trade for them? We'd get another VC deal or Rose or Williams crybabying.... To be a good GM you can't make kneejerk reactions, you build and have VISION....so you're team kicks ass on your playstation with bonzi or harrington....they aren't difference makers. they are selfish not that great defenders and have questionable attitudes in real life.
Well now, this is what I see. TJ Ford Mo Peterson Joey Graham Chris Bosh Rasho Nesterovic 6th Man - Bargnani
the starting five as of now: ford (pg) mo. pete (sg) parker (sf) Bosh (pf) rasho © sixth man (garbosa) seventh dude off the bench (caledron) eighth dude off the bench (bargnani) last dude off the bench (joey g)
Yea, so now Parker should be the one starting at SF for us. We still need another big man off the bench, so let's hope Humphries does well.
Any solutions for a 2nd scorer out there? Mike James and Villanueva are both gone, who were our 2nd and 3rd options last year. I really can't see anyone being a #2 scoring option on this team (no, Mo Pete will not be it), at best we can expect Bargnani to replace Villanueva's role with everyone else stepping up (Mo, Ford, Graham, Parker).
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Jones:</div><div class="quote_post">If Villanueva can step up as a rookie last year why not Bargnani this year?</div> As a second option? Last year Villanueva became the 3rd option on the team about midway through the season. This year we have no 2nd option. I find it hard to see Bargnani stepping up and being the 2nd option this year, especially if he ends up starting the year on the bench. If we want to be a playoff team, we need to have a 2nd option for atleast the first half of the season, even if Bargnani becomes a legit 2nd option sometime during the year. Plus, last year it worked well with that deadly pick and roll/pop combo of James and Bosh. Who knows though, maybe Humphries or Rasho will surprise us and score 14-18 ppg. To some up the off-season (including the draft) this is what we have done. Replace Villanueva with Bargnani Replace James with Ford Add a high price, legit center in Rasho Add possibly a steal in Barbosa Replace Hoffas spot on thebench with Humphries, who could turn out to be somthing Add Garbajosa, don't know much about him, but he'll get some time, with Sow out Decent off-season so far, with questionable moves. We've upgraded our roster, but by how much? As it is now, we are not playoff contenders, which is what many of us hoped for at the begginning of the Colangelo Era. There's still plenty of time left in the off-season, but with our main chips gone (Charlie, James), BC will have to be more creative and try to pull some Diaw-ish stuff to make this team into a playoff-like team going into training camp.
