I'd actually love to see Sly in an NBA game. We could place bets on how many running strides he takes before they deliver the oxygen tank.

If it had said SlyPokerDog so he can pick some slivers from sitting on the bench after getting pulled 30 seconds into the game you would have had my vote!

    Otherwise, Never SlyPokerDog!

And whether or not he makes it past half court before the possession is over and the ball comes back the other way.

Haha! I can just see him straddling the half court line, changing directions every few seconds and running a few feet while reaching for a Marlboro.

The $80m man Crabbe has to play at least 30 mpg.

He should be the eventual starter with Turner as the primary backup/playmaker in the second unit.

Not if he doesn't earn 30m of playing time. And I don't see either Crabbe (who's not really a SF) or Turner being better than Harkless - at least with how each of them fits in with the other starters. Harkless, IMO, is the only good option we have at starting SF.

Also, I really hope we're able to trade Crabbe for a position of need - we can't have both Crabbe and Turner on their respective contracts for the long haul.

At least for this season--what players are making does not matter. The money is spent--it's Paul Allen's money at the end of the day. We are not in luxury tax hell yet. We can bitch and moan in the offseason about Crabbe not living up to his contract. But during the season it does not matter to the game of basketball if Crabbe's $70 million contract starts or comes off the bench. What matters is which option helps the team out the most.

Upcoming seasons though, once we're in cap hell, we have the right to expect Crabbe to start living up to his contract. If we don't make any trades this season it'll be the first and last year of having an extremely deep team. We'll start to weed players out in the upcoming offseason.

I don't think you can use the players salary as a way to judge their worth/value anymore. It has gotten so astronomical it just doesn't hold any weight anymore. That kid in Miami got 50M over 4 years and not only did he average 4 pts last season, I've never heard of him!

Harkless as he's the only option given that has a prayer of matching up on NBA starting 4s when switches happen on D. If any other option given starts, most every team will be forcing that switch from the tip off.
