Blazers lose to Heat in the Finals, 4-0, after a 61 win season and beating the Lakers in the WCF 4-3.
Blazers make the WCF. Oden plays in 72 games. LMA is an allstar and we trade miller/joel midseason and have bayless as our starting point guard.
We may have one day without "fire Nate" or "Nate is terrrible" or "Sergio is better than anyone on the Blazers" threads. But I doubt it.
You want a bold prediction aye? Ok how about this? The Rudy situation will work out fine with Rudy being a happy clam all season long.
Bold Prediction: Brandon Roy, Greg Oden, and LaMarcus Aldridge will all miss AT LEAST 20 games this season due to injury
The Greg Oden smokescreen will continue, and he'll not be healthy enough to play in pre-season. Then they will announce Camby as the starter for game 1. Then suddenly he'll come in about 5 minutes into the first game and dominate and throw everyone off-balance with the sudden smokescreen lifted.
I have several: 1.) Batum's scoring average will jump to 16 points a game along with 5 rebounds, 1 steal and 3 assists per game. He will get honorable mention for the NBA All Defense team. 2.) Mathews, though a great person, will be a disappointment as a player making number 3. 3.) Rudy will not be traded and will average 18 minutes a game. 4.) Bayless will be traded to an East coast team where he will average in the teens in points thereby continuing the Blazers history of being a development team for the rest of the league. 5.) Portland will not make a single trade or free agent signing before number 6. 6.) The league will have a lockout for the entire 2011-2012 season.
So, exactly how is Bayless going to be traded to an east-coast team if Portland will not make a single trade this season?
Doh! My bad. Consider the updated number 5: Portland will not make a single significant trade or free agent signing before the lockout in 2011-2012. Bayless would probably only bring back a future draft pick or some bench player. He certainly won't bring back a point guard who can defend and spread the floor.
1) ESPN HOF will not have to pay off any bet with a barbeque. 2) I will retire from this board when I reach 3000 posts.
Probably too much ... the fact is this was insensible enough that I couldn't let it pass without saying something: people complain when things don't appear to be progressing or going well, not when the team plays "better, better."
Excuse me? Was this place all contentment and harmony when a broken down team managed somehow to win 50 games and make it to the playoffs in the tough West? This place goes ape shit if the team plays well or if it plays bad. There is absolutely no correlation between quality of play and the negative threads... The number of zero negative threads during a good period of play is rarer than rocking horse manure...
