http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2014/08/04/listen-cowley-sheds-more-light-on-rose-bulls-tension-report/ Cowley says that Uncle Jerry is a liar. Uncle Jerry says "consider the source."
Paper thin can work both ways. Likewise damage control. Called out, butt hurt and retaliation? Mmmmabe?
I agree with this: If Reinsdorf's comments were aimed at Rose, as Cowley believes, and not the Bulls organization, as some here have contended, then it's way worse than damage control. Reinsdorf in essence undercut his young star as he sought to plant a flag and take control of the message. That's not damage control, that's a giant step backward.
There's a legal proverb that goes something like this: If the law isn't on your side, pound the table. In honor of the two lawyers in this thread. I think it was Marcus Cicero (Ancient Greek) who said something like: If the facts aren't on your side, impeach your opponent.
This is from 2011. https://ca.sports.yahoo.com/nba/blo...-apparent-huge-steroid-problem?urn=nba,wp3662 In one of those quickie Q and A's ESPN Mag likes to run every-however-often-they-publish, Rose was asked to rate the NBA's problem with PEDs on a scale from one to ten. He classified it as a "seven," and then dropped this: "It's huge and I think we need a level playing field, where nobody has that advantage over the next person." ... Rose denied through a team spokesman on Sunday that he even made the comments, and that'll be more than enough to fuel the fire, because nothing satiates a conspiracy theorist more than an outright denial spun through the professional hands of a team or league employee.
The facts are few and far between. 1. Report of bad blood between Rose's "camp" and the org. 2. Rose says no bad blood between him and the Bulls but was aware of issues with his "camp" and it bothered him. 3. Reinsdorf says no issues. Relationship with Rose is good. :MARIS61:
